Even among Alchemy Star’s ever-growing cast of characters, the Silent Hunters are pretty unique. Not only are they generally strong units, they’re also free 6* units that come at Ascension III. Their recruitment method makes them more expensive to recruit, but they don’t cost anything to Max Breakthrough (MBT).

How Do You Unlock the Silent Hunters?

Unfortunately, unlocking the Silent Hunters takes a LONG time. After you’ve completed stage 7-14, the Old Seal tab on the home screen will unlock. If you tap it, you’ll see four Aurorians pop up, one for each element. If you start the path to unlocking one, switching will wipe your progress – so choose wisely. I chose Mythos first, and unfortunately, I’m still in the process of unlocking her. As you can see, even the first set of missions requires 3,000 prisms to be used, which is a LOT. It’s best to clear these missions over time, instead of using rechargers to speed it up. Each set of missions requires more prism, and materials of increasing expensiveness. Once you’ve completed the 5th set of missions, you’ll unlock the Silent Hunter you initially chose.

Using Star Crests for Breakthroughs

After you’ve gotten your first Silent Hunter, you can use Star Crests to give them Breakthroughs. Like any other Aurorian, this gives them minor stat boosts – and more importantly, it upgrades their Skills. Note: it’ll take 10 Star Crests to completely Breakthrough one Silent Hunter. It might seem like a lot, since we get them slowly, but it’s also a free MBT 6*.

How Do You Get Star Crests?

Unfortunately, Star Crests are pretty rare. The only real way to get them is from events. I personally only have 6 Crests, but I’ve also forgotten to pick up a few that have been previously available. Fortunately, events happen frequently. And they usually don’t require you to go out of your way to farm event currency. For example, I’ve barely touched the current event, and I’ve still earned enough currency to buy the single available Star Crest from the shop. And just like the Silent Hunters themselves, Star Crests are something that are obtained over time, instead of specifically farming for them.
