This dark fantasy adventure was written by Hiromu Arakawa – and it’s so damn good, it was adapted into an anime two consecutive times. The original 2003 adaptation of Fullmetal Alchemist was key to my development as a young anime fan – and the 2009 Brotherhood adaptation which closely follows the manga was of such high quality, I felt like I was dreaming the first time I watched it. If you’re as passionate about the show as I am, I’ve got some good news: there’s some brilliant Fullmetal Alchemist-themed CC online made just for The Sims 4, and I’ve taken the time to compile some of the best into this list. Let’s take a look!
10. FMA Group Photo T-Shirt
Check Out This CC This simple t-shirt by Thirteen2D may be kind of basic – but it also has a special kind of realism to it. It features a group photo of most of the cast, and it’s reminiscent of the kind of shirt you’d impulsively get at an anime convention just to have something, anything, to show your love for the show with. With time, it would fade away and become a staple in your pajama ensemble. I know because I own several such t-shirts!
9. Ouroboros Tattoo
Check Out This CC All homunculi in Fullmetal Alchemist carry a mark that shows their true nature and helps tell them apart from normal humans – the Ouroboros, a draconic serpent eating its own tail. This symbol of death and rebirth can be found anywhere on the body, including the tongue (in Gluttony’s case) and eyes (like King Bradley). According to Brotherhood, they go insane if the mark is removed, succumbing to their namesake sin – like Gluttony, who becomes a mindless gourmand. But this CC doesn’t go that far. But it includes Lust’s chest tattoo, Envy’s hand tattoo, and Greed’s leg tattoo.
8. Fullmetal Alchemist T-Shirt
Check Out This CC We all love to show our adoration for our favorite anime series by wearing themed apparel – and these seven Fullmetal Alchemist t-shirts are perfect for your Sims to show off their faves. Among others, the designs on Adys_004’s set of t-shirts include:
A Flamel symbol like the one on Edward’s back. The alchemical circle binding Alphonse’s soul to his armor. The symbol of the State Alchemists found on Edward’s pocket watch. The Ouroboros symbol that marks the homunculi.
They’re all depicted in bright, fashionable colors. But in this set they’re only available for female Sims, unfortunately.
7. Amestris State Military Uniform – Male
Check Out This CC The Elric Brothers are citizens of Amestris – a militaristic country where joining the army means getting on the fast track to success (even if it may involve doing some unethical things when called to the front). This uniform by Studio-K Creation looks just like the one you’d see Roy Mustang and his male subordinates wearing. It’s functional, looks great, and a man in uniform has a special kind of charm. This specific CC is available in three colors – black, dark blue, and the bright blue that we usually see on the show.
6. Amestris State Military Uniform – Female
Check Out This CC Of course, we also have this patriotic uniform for ladies – just like the one you’d see Lieutenant Riza Hawkeye wearing while on-the-clock (which seems to be 24/7). Other than coming in bright blue, dark blue, and black, the female uniform comes either with pants or with a mini-skirt. We all know which one Roy Mustang would have preferred.
5. Riza Hawkeye’s Alchemy Tattoo
Check Out This CC Lt. Riza Hawkeye is one of the coolest – and hottest – characters in the Fullmetal Alchemist universe. But there’s more to Roy Mustang’s loyal aide than meets the eye. One of her less-known secrets is the fact that she has a massive alchemical tattoo on her back. This was etched-on by her father, Berthold, and it’s an enormous repository of his knowledge and findings on flame alchemy. In other words, she’s a walking database. This intricate tattoo holds powerful information that could be dangerous in the wrong hands, so be careful who you trust with this CC made by Adys_004.
4. Edward Elric Outfit
Check Out This CC The Elric brothers have had a pretty hard life. It’s only fair that they’d get to enjoy the simple, whimsical life of a Sim for a while – so let’s get them into your game. This outfit by Bonensjaak will take care of the clothing aspect of the equation for Edward. It includes everything you need for the Fullmetal Alchemist, including the black pants, black jacket, white gloves – and, most importantly the iconic red coat. It even has the Flamel symbol on the back! This is perfect for a magic-user Sim from the Realm of Magic expansion – or just an avid Fullmetal Alchemist cosplayer.
3. Automail Arm
Check Out This CC Just the outfit might be enough for a cosplaying Sim – but if you want Edward Elric in your game, he needs to have his automail arm. This CC pack by TheDiceGoddess wasn’t modeled specifically after Edward’s automail – instead it’s a set of different robotic arms for anyone to wear. Still, it’s a great choice for making our shorter Elric brother in TS4. Play around with the many options here and find one you like the most! Keep in mind that these are just dermal accessories and not an actual mechanical arm. And considering how painful getting automail installed is supposed to be, maybe that’s for the best.
2. Alphonse Elric Armor
Check Out This CC Now that we’re done some good work with Edward, let’s move on to the younger – but taller – brother, Alphonse. Considering he’s a soul bound to a set of armor, getting him into the game took creator Botrom-U1 a ton of work. Still, the results are incredible, so it was time well-spent. This set of armor is incredibly accurate to the anime, including colors and textures. It even has the little strand of fabric running down from the top of the helmet! I mean sure, it looks pretty weird when he takes off the armor to take a bath – but let’s not fret over the details.
1. Glossy Alphonse Elric Armor
Check Out This CC If the previous armor mod just isn’t clicking for you, consider this glossy alternative by creator Chrissie24642. This model is based on the Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood PSP game, so it’s even more detailed than the previous one. This armor’s leather parts look especially good, and the metallic elements have a sheen to them that seems realistic for steel plate armor. He’s also a little on the chubbier side here, for some reason. Pro tip: I’d recommend making your Sim dark-skinned if you’re re-creating Al, since a lighter complexion would peek through the armor’s crannies.
