But if we’re looking at the taller side of the spectrum, we’ll default to Syndra! And since we’re already deleting people left and right, why not also flex our cosmetics to add some salt to the wound? So we’re looking at all of Syndra’s skins and ranking them based on both what they offer, and the amount of cash you’ll have to turn into RP for each one. Let’s go!
9. Pool Party Syndra
Released: July 2nd, 2020 Price: 1350 RP I have to be honest here: Syndra doesn’t really have any bad skins, so this is nitpick central. I’m going to put Pool Party Syndra in last place because of two main reasons. Firstly, it’s a bit on the expensive side while providing the same amount of quality as cheaper skins. Secondly, a different (and cheaper) skin has already covered the whole water theme, making Pool Party Syndra a bit less unique. That being said, the skin is still pretty amazing. The recall animation never fails to make me laugh. And the character model is expertly made. If you’re really into fanservice skins, this one is probably at the top of your list… but this is a PG list so I can’t do that.
8. Queen of Diamonds Syndra
Released: May 20th, 2015 Price: 750 RP This Queen of Diamonds skin has some pretty great value – but being the cheapest of the bunch, it expectedly is also the only one that doesn’t feature new animations. The character model is really well made, in my opinion, making Syndra look like an evil jester or comic-book supervillain. Her base animations don’t seem out of place with this new look. But I would be lying if I told you that I wasn’t missing a bit more umph. I generally really like this skin line, as I think it features some amazing budget skins. However, Syndra’s catalogue is way too stacked to give this one a higher position.
7. Withered Rose Syndra
Released: February 11th, 2021 Price: 1350 RP This is another excellent skin that’s nerfed for this list simply because of its price. The splash art is just brilliant. And I think the in-game model lives up to it to a large degree. However, the animations simply weren’t my cup of tea. The major selling point for this skin is that her spheres now feature roses, and I just found that design choice to be a bit odd. I’m not saying that it looks bad or anything. But rather that most other skins simply made more sense. I will say, however, that the backing animation is pretty nutty, as cameos aren’t really all that frequent among skins.
6. Justicar Syndra
Released: September 12th, 2012 Price: 975 RP Although this skin is both very old and very simple, it managed to stand the test of time for a lot of Syndra mains. It’s like the OG Syndra skin that makes you feel like a true burst veteran. However, it’s pretty basic, all things considered. Animation-wise it just swaps out all the dark animations for bright ones. Don’t get me wrong, the animations are extremely smooth, and they absolutely work with the theme. But they simply don’t offer as much as some other Syndra skins. I will say though that the base model is downright gorgeous.
5. SKT T1 Syndra
Released: June 27th, 2017 Price: 1350 RP I do think it’s fair to say that this is a top-tier Championship skin, as it manages to impress even those players who have never seen E-sports in their life. The character model just looks majestic, with a giant golden head piece being in central stage, and a golden-red dress to wrap it all up. The whole ordeal just gives off strong elf vibes – and I am here for it. The backing animation is also really cool, as it even pays tribute to League of Legends Jesus, Faker. So why is it not at number 1? Well, first because I think that while a casual player can enjoy the skin, they can’t really appreciate all of its details, making it a bit more niche. And second, the animations aren’t anything all that jaw-dropping – especially for its price range.
4. Atlantean Syndra
Released: April 29th, 2014 Price: 975 RP This is the best budget Syndra skin if you ask me. The theme is simple and yet extremely effective, making everything water based. The character model looks in-line with what one would expect when they hear “Atlantis”. And all the animations are pretty well made. I also just really like how her spheres look in this skin, as they’re very easy to keep track of (on top of just being cool). The little water effects and particles are all very clear and noticeable as well, so you might even have an easier time CSing with this skin. Overall, I have not met many Syndra mains that do not hold this skin in high regard. And I think that it’s deserving of all the praise coming its way.
3. Bewitching Syndra
Released: October 7th, 2021 Price: 1350 RP Thematically, I’m surprised it took Riot this long to give Syndra a Halloween skin. I mean, just making her orbs pumpkins was such an obvious idea. The backing animation here is also really clean, and I think Nami hates you in this universe. Plus the sound effects are appropriately spooky too, and the bat particles really add some immersion points into the mix. But of course, I do have some minor nitpicks. First off, the character model here (although very cool & detailed) could be just about anyone since these types of skins don’t really allow for the champion’s design to shine all that much. Secondly, the animations feel a bit too flashy if you ask me. Screaming orange pumpkins are a lot easier to notice and evade than the normal monochrome balls. If you don’t care for metagaming, then the flashy animations are sure to be a plus, since they do liven things up quite a bit. But since I do feel like they give you a small disadvantage in-game I have to leave Bewitching Syndra below a few other great picks.
2. Star Guardian Syndra
Released: September 6th, 2017 Price: 1350 RP I mean, come on, it’s a Star Guardian skin. Of course it’s going to be really high up. The base model is about what you would expect from this skin line, and therefore I don’t feel like talking about it that much. What I do want to talk about are her spheres! I don’t know who thought that those mini black holes needed to be cute, but I’m glad that they did. All of the spheres are now little cat-like creatures that laugh as you ult someone out of existence. This skin also has a slight pay-to-win aspect, as the spheres have an extremely noticeable animation when they’re about to expire, making it easier for you to keep track of their uptime. It’s a brilliant skin – but I honestly couldn’t play with it on a consistent basis, as I can only see so many kitty-balls die before breaking. Which is why I prefer my next pick:
1. Snow Day Syndra
Released: December 10th, 2015 Price: 1350 RP Everything about this skin is worthy of a chef’s kiss. The in-game character model looks so stylish and so comfy that it’s difficult not to envy Syndra’s fashion sense. And the animations are all smooth and well stylized, plus the audio cues are clear and appropriate. Even an S-class nit-picker like myself can’t find anything I particularly don’t like about this skin. It’s not too over the top like Star Guardian, so I don’t tire out after a few games with it. And it’s also more unique than a skin like Justicar, making me feel a bit more unique while playing. Perfectly balanced as all things should be, besides her ult. And lastly, what’s more hilarious than snowballing a space dragon to death? Note: this content was created under Riot Games’ “Legal Jibber Jabber” policy using assets owned by Riot Games.
