And there are very few champions that can compare to the insane outplay potential of a good Orianna ult. As fun as she is though, she was first released quite a long time ago. So it’s probably time for a makeover. Thankfully, she’s got plenty of great skins to pick through. So we’re going to look at all of her skins and determine which are truly better than others, considering price, features, and overall appeal.
10. Sewn Chaos Orianna
Released: June 1st, 2011 Price: 520 RP I really like the idea behind this skin. And if the in-game model matched the splash art, I probably would have moved this skin up a few places – but alas that is not the case. The new character model certainly looks terrifying. But not “cool terrifying” like Fiddlesticks, more like “ugly terrifying” like Yumi’s design. Also the ball is pretty solid all things considered, and does look pretty eerie, but Orianna herself just has too many things going on. If you zoom into the character model, you can see what Riot was going for… but in an actual game, you just look like a mess. Sewn Chaos Orianna is a really cheap skin so it’s affordable. And the splash art/idea is really cool. But it’s the least appealing pick out of the bunch.
9. Gothic Orianna
Released: June 1st, 2011 Price: 520 RP I guess there’s a pattern of skins that come out together, often go to the bottom of the tier list together. Although I will say that Gothic Orianna isn’t as ugly – it simply doesn’t do enough. The skin doesn’t offer any new animations or particles, and both the splash art and the in-game model are just sort of meh. Especially when you take into consideration that there’s a different Orianna skin that looks a lot edgier than this one (and it’s coming up!) Even though that might not have been the goal here… it can come off that way Sure, this is another cheap skin. And the color palette does look quite nice. But that just sounds like chroma talk.
8. TPA Orianna
Released: May 23rd, 2013 Price: 750 RP TPA Orianna really reminds me of how simple Worlds skins used to be. I can’t say that it’s just a recolor, as it does change the model too, but jeez is it minor. You basically just get a TPA shirt, a headset, some spikes on your ball, and then call it a day. The new design does have a punk-rock sort of vibe, at least to me, but I really wish it came with some new particles or animations. At least the classic trophy flex backing animations that are so common with Worlds skins these days! Overall, the skin is slightly cooler than the previous choices – but still rather underwhelming, unless you’re a huge E-sports fan and just want this as a collectable.
7. Bladecraft Orianna
Released: February 29th, 2012 Price: 975 RP Even though this skin is the most expensive one so far (while still only being a character model redesign with no new animations or particles), I can say that it is worth getting. This character model is everything Gothic Orianna should have been, and so much more. The color pallet is really nice here, and the spikes on the ball and Orianna’s skirt give it some nice edge. Pun intended. Her face also somehow looks even more robotic than usual, which I didn’t know was possible. Even the splash art is pretty terrific! I can’t rank this too high though, since it doesn’t really have a concise theme or any major “wow” factors. But it is a really decent model redesign.
6. Heartseeker Orianna
Released: February 11th, 2016 Price: 1350 RP Finally, we’re moving into the big leagues. Heartseeker Orianna offers brand new animations, particles, sound effects, you name it. But I can’t say that it’s perfect. The character model is very colorful for sure, and the Valentine theme is pretty obvious. But she just looks a bit too human. Plus, the new animations and particles aren’t anything to really write home about. Sure, it’s satisfying to see a giant heart as you ult five people into their doom. But her basic abilities feel a bit underwhelming. She does get a new backing animation, but I can’t really say I love it all that much either. All in all, the skin is decent. But if you’re willing to spend 1350 RP, I think there are better choices.
5. Victorious Orianna
Released: November 21st, 2018 Price: Ranked Reward I have rather conflicting feelings about this skin. On the one hand, I just can’t get behind the character model. The abundance of shiny colors makes Orianna look like an antique store teapot. On the other hand, everything else about the skin is pretty epic. The particles fit in so well, and they never cross that line of being too flashy, while still managing to look nice. Also the backing animation is pretty fun & even the splash art is rather elegant. It’s literally just the champion model that’s giving me a hard time. So I’m just going to say that Victorious Orianna is at the bottom of the upper-class skins.
4. Orbeeanna
Released: March 3rd, 2022 Price: 1350 RP Bee skins always have two things going for them: a hilarious name and a really cute design. Needless to say, Orbeeanna fits both categories. The character model is rather intricate, with flower petals circling your waste and even little bee wings fluttering on your back. And your bee inside of a bee companion is just adorable. It’s also worth pointing out that the skin has a pretty strong chroma game. This is because each chroma sports a slightly different bee ball (as each one is making a different face). When it comes to particles and animations – it isn’t as clear-cut. I really like the auto attacks, as they feel very hefty and distinct. However, the Q doesn’t feel as powerful. It’s not too much of a detractor but it’s worth pointing out. And when it comes to your W and R (your most important abilities), I’m torn. This is because both are really easy to spot. This is great for when your ally needs a W speed-up but less than ideal for getting those five-man ults. Overall, I think the skin is very cute and decently polished. But the W and R animation slightly nerf its ranking.
3. Pool Party Orianna
Released: July 2nd, 2020 Price: 1350 RP You can never go wrong with a Pool Party skin. And this is just one of many examples. The character model is a bit simplistic, but really fun, rocking a neat little floaty and a nice hat. And the animations have all been redone to fit the water theme better. I absolutely love how your W also spawns in some fish that are just chilling out, and your backing animation has just the right amount of comedic relief. Plus, this skin is a wet dream (pun intended) for meta gamers. Since all of your abilities are now water-based, a good ult in the river is almost impossible to see coming – as the particles just blend in with the background. I will say that I prefer the usual clank auto-attack sound effect to the new splash sound, but it isn’t a deal-breaker by any stretch of the imagination.
2. Dark Star Orianna
Released: May 3rd, 2017 Price: 1350 RP If you really want the biggest dose of “wow” factor, this is the skin for you. The Dark Star skin line rarely misses as it is… but the team really outdid themselves with this Dark Star Orianna. It makes Orianna look and feel like a literal god, with a very mysterious and threatening character model, and some rather flashy animations. Thematically, the skin makes a lot of sense. Your ult acts like a black hole, and having a sphere of death following you around just looks natural when you literally have the words “dark star” in your name. The backing animation here is also quite interesting, as you do your best overwhelmed deity impression. And don’t even get me started on the splash art… that thing just slaps. The only complaint that I do have about this skin is that it almost completely loses that robotic vibe Orianna is based around.
1. Winter Wonder Orianna
Released: December 15th, 2014 Price: 975 RP Before Dark Star and Pool Party came out, this was the go-to skin. And I think it should stay that way. It just brings so much value for such a low cost, it’s insane! I mean, the character model has that uncanny “living doll” vibe that the previous two skins were missing. And the ball is a horned Poro, so it even gets some cuteness points. Winter Wonder Orianna even features new animations and particles that are on par with the higher priced skins! Your W now leaves a snowflake symbol on the ground, your E has a Poro outline, and your backing animation has an entire army of Poros. Sure, there’s no unique animation for the ult. But I don’t think that’s enough to fully dethrone this one. And on top of all that, this skin has my favorite auto-attack animation out of the bunch – which always leads to some huge brownie points.
