Since 1992, Mortal Kombat characters have become a household name among gamers, with fans taking up their favorite characters in the hopes of beating their siblings, friends, or maybe even their parents. And let’s say you wanna bring a little MK into your Minecraft world. Well thankfully there’s a bunch of skins out there to help you out.
1. Sub-Zero
Check Out This Skin Sub-Zero as we know him didn’t actually debut as Sub-Zero. He originally debuted under the alias of “Tundra”, who’s the original Sub-Zero’s younger brother. Later on, he takes the mantle of Sub-Zero, and brings an end to the long rivalry between the Lin Kuei and Shairai Ryu. This is one of the more well-known characters in the MK franchise – so if you’re doing anything in Minecraft, considering bringing Sub-Zero along.
2. Scorpion
Check Out This Skin Being a warrior from the Shairai Ryu clan, Scorpion has spent his entire existence focused on avenging himself, his family, and his clan. And contrary to his personal missions for vengeance, Scorpion is considered one of the most neutral characters in the franchise. He’ll often side with whoever helps him with his own missions – which would make this skin an excellent choice for PvP. Or for really anything in Minecraft, really… I mean, who wouldn’t recognize this skin?
3. Kitana
Check Out This Skin So here’s some mind blowing info for you: Princess Kitana is actually 10,000 years old in her realm! I know it’s hard to believe. But age in her realm moves differently, which explains her very young appearance. She was even the stepdaughter to Shao Kahn, and eventually became his greatest enemy. If you want a badass female skin to bring into your next game, look no further.
4. Ermac
Check Out This Skin Ermac actually started as a rumored glitch in the original Mortal Kombat game. But his official debut was in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. While Ermac usually sides with the antagonists, he’s more of a neutral character who’s devoted to finding a proper ruler for his home realm, Outworld. And this skin design is like a spitting image of him – well, in Minecraft pixel form anyways.
5. Raiden
Check Out This Skin Raiden is based off of Raijin, the god of thunder. So you already knew this guy’s design would be kick-ass. And he debuted first in the original Mortal Kombat game in 1992. So he’s been around for a while, although he only became a playable character in Mortal Kombat 3. Raiden is the protector of Earthrealm, and he personally selects and trains warriors to participate in Mortal Kombat. This could work pretty well with some other warrior or ninja skins too.
6. Reptile
Check Out This Skin Reptile’s real name is Syzoth, and he’s from the Outworld. And he’s one of the few original characters from way back when, although he was an unlockable character in the original game. But thankfully this fantastic skin is totally free – no unlock requirements here!
7. Erron Black
Check Out This Skin Erron Black is one of the most recent additions to the MK franchise. But he’s also one of the most memorable characters from newer entries. He debuted in Mortal Kombat X, and he’s an Earthrealm born Outworld mercenary that serves whoever’s in control of Outworld. While he might be from Earthrealm originally, that doesn’t seem to sway him in any direction… all he cares about is who has the deepest pockets. Turns out, that’s usually Outworld.
8. Johnny Cage
Check Out This Skin Say hello to Jonathan Carlton! He’s a famous movie star and martial artist that’s one of the original seven characters from the original Mortal Kombat game. While his design and concept have changed over the many games in the series, Johnny and his fans are still here – and they aren’t going anywhere anytime soon! So this one’s for all your hardcore Mortal Kombat fans, or for anyone who grew up on the classics.
9. Baraka
Check Out This Skin Baraka is a Tarkatan from Outworld that’s been around since Mortal Kombat II. Baraka’s species has a pair of blades they can shoot out and retract from their forearms. So that’s already a certified badass move. Although I’m sad to say this skin won’t carry over that power into Minecraft (there are mods, though…)
10. Mileena
Check Out This Skin Mileena also first debuted as a playable character back in Mortal Kombat II, and she’s been a recurring antagonist throughout the series. She’s a genetic experiment created by Shang Tsung, and an adopted daughter of Shao Kahn. But really, she’s just a clone of Kitana that was mixed with Tarkatan blood as a defense against the real Kitana. And this custom skin design really nails her look. It’s not a perfect match to her more modern design – but it’s an excellent re-creation to bring her into Minecraft.
11. Cassie Cage
Check Out This Skin Cassie Cage was only introduced to us as a playable character in Mortal Kombat X. But in the short time she’s been around, she’s already starting to take the reins from her father as one of Earthrealm’s best protectors. Cassie is the daughter of Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade, but she didn’t get involved with the affairs of Earthrealm until she was kidnapped by the Black Dragon organization. After that, she became a sergeant, and eventually she quit that to join the Special Forces that help to defend Earthrealm from Outworld. This specific skin is based more on the Mortal Kombat 11 character design, but anyone who knows the series should recognize her.
12. Liu Kang
Check Out This Skin Liu Kang is one of Earthrealm’s mightiest defenders. He was also the grand champion through the first four tournaments in the original timeline, although in the alternate timeline, he was only crowned champ in the first 2 tourneys. And here’s something interesting: he was actually one of the most non-graphic fatalities in the original game. But of course, as time went on things did change a bit… This skin above is based on the Liu Kang design from Mortal Kombat 9, and it’s really an excellent re-creation. Perfect for PvP or PvE, or for making a Minecraft fan video or anything else.
