No matter the version, Sims love their stereos. Sometimes a little too much, honestly. Fun fact: it’s the first piece of electronic equipment shown in the original installment when loading up the Newbie household! They’re a staple in our game. But those who’ve been playing The Sims 4 from day one might be tired of the current offerings. Allow us to add a little variety to your stereo collection with some great CC options!
Sims 3 Generations Stereo for Sims 4
Check Out This CC Here’s a throwback from The Sims 3 that’s now available for Sims 4. Owners of the Generations pack will recognize this giant, old school stereo/console table. Simza was kind enough to convert the record player stereo to the current installment of The Sims. Use it for decades challenges set in the ‘60s and ‘70s – or for an elderly Sim who hasn’t quite caught up to modern decor styles. You’ll find 20 swatches available here, and there’s 10 slots for decorating with whatever knick-knacks you like. It’s also base-game compatible and available under Electronics/Audio for 590 simoleons.
Tiny Stereos
Check Out This CC Can’t spare the space for a giant stereo? Then we think you’ll love this one. These stereos from Stefizzi are indeed tiny and also really cute. You’ll find these in two designs: one with separated speakers, and the other connected. Both versions are Maxis-Match friendly and come with a combined 11 swatches. We could see this fitting well on a bookshelf, coffee table, or TV stand while leaving room for other items. Don’t hesitate to grab for Sims living in small apartments or tiny homes!
Tuomo Floorstanding Floor Speakers
Check Out This CC One of my favorite rooms to build for wealthy Sims is a home theater. Beyond the giant TV with crystal clear reception, you’ll also need great quality surround-sound speakers for that authentic movie experience. Righthearted’s standing floor speakers are so sleek-looking that you know they’re high quality. There’s 4 variations available, but you can’t go wrong with solid black. It’s also part of the Tuomo Scandinavian Living set, which you can check out here.
Old Timey Musical Gadgets
Check Out This CC Hunting for historical CC can be quite the challenge sometimes. Especially when it comes to activity-based CC. Factor in that there are no EA and base game classic stereos/radios and it gets downright difficult. So we’re grateful that HistoricalSimsLife created three old-school music players that your Sims can jam and groove to without breaking immersion. Choose between a gramophone, an old radio, and a music box (which offers a lot of wiggle room when it comes to historical timelines). All three function as regular stereos in-game.
Motivational Smart Speaker
Check Out This CC Confession? As cute as the Lin-Z smart speaker is, the design is not so flattering. It takes up as much space as a gaming console and is honestly a huge, blocky eyesore. Talented creator Ravasheen turns the unsightly smart speaker into a slim, rectangular device that’ll fit in so much better with your furnishings. It does everything that the EA version of Lin-Z can: tell jokes, play music and trivia, control lights and order pizza for delivery. You’ll find this in gray and black, and it even has decor slots available.
Ilex Speakers
Check Out This CC One or two speakers not enough for your Sim’s living room? Well, how about 6? You read that right: Wondymoon’s speaker set includes 6 different speakers for all of your Sim’s entertainment needs. They come in different sizes and shapes, standing and wall mounted with 9 different swatches per speaker. It’s also fully functional as a radio, so your Sims can enjoy music as well. Wondymoon has awesome CC out there, so give this a try and check out their other downloads too!
JBL Speaker
Check Out This CC The Sims and real life collide with this JBL speaker from KatieSimSpire. Portable and pill-shaped, this Bluetooth device is a great solution for those who want to listen to music on the go. We know there’s a portion of the Simmer population who love having real-life brands in their game. So if you’re a JBL x Sim fan, this is a gem of a find. There’s 6 swatches in total, and the creator suggests placing the speaker on a shelf by using the bb.moveobjects on cheat.
Micro Sound System Simtronic
Check Out This CC The 2000’s were an interesting decade. Smart phones weren’t quite as smart as they are now, and electronics in general had very unique designs. One of the most popular electronic trends was the CD player/Radio with built-in speakers: Exactly how we’d describe Annigo’s micro sound system. Flat and placed on a stand, we love the nostalgia we feel from looking at it (especially the Compact Disc logo on the front). You can even see the CD spinning thanks to its clear door. Which, trust me, was a huge thing back then.
Retro Reboot Radios
Check Out This CC The ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s have become favorite eras for Simmers to play in. EA’s known this for a while, which lead to an aptly named pack for The Sims 3 – and the Throwback Fit Kit for The Sims 4. That said, those who play in this era run into the same issues as historical players: Too much modern, not enough vintage. No worries, though: this set of retro radios from ArwenKaboom will fit perfectly in your late 20th century Sim’s world. Six radios round out the collection, all of them a good fit for a variety of decades. But if you only need one or two, download them individually here.
Girly HiFi Audio
Check Out This CC I’m not ashamed to say that I love pink. There’s no telling how many times my Sims have had all-pink-everything rooms or apartments. Sound familiar? Then you’ll love this stereo as much as I do. Amazing CC creator JonSims made this absolute beauty of a warm pink stereo, complete with a phone dock, speakers and a CD player. We also spot two other swatches (purple and orange), which we’re sure look just as good. The high-quality design is also a nice touch. You can easily see the text above each button with clarity. If you’re looking for a stand-out stereo to put in your game, add this to your CC collection!
