Plus nothing beats the feeling of both surviving a dive and killing your opponent with a single W. So, since I (and a lot of other players) definitely plan on locking this dude in for our next game, what cosmetic should I get? That’s the question I’ll try to answer as we look through all of Sett’s skins and determine which one gets the crown in my book.
4. Pool Party Sett
Released: June 9th, 2021 Price: 1350 RP Although this skin has the most “I watch it for the plot” splash art that I have ever seen… I have to say that it’s my least favorite of the bunch. The character model here is actually pretty nice, as we get to see Sett being a bit more laid back with more flowers than the average wedding, and a pair of sweet shades so he can’t see the haters. But the abilities are just weird to me. Having his auto-attack with water sound effects makes you feel like a wet noodle. And I can’t say that I like the experience. Plus, some of his abilities just seem random at this point. Okay, I can get why your W leaves some sand behind, but why does your ult summon seagulls? Your fully charged W also feels a bit on the weaker side here, as you just get some bubbles and a whistle sound effect. Overall, Pool Party Sett might be a good option if you don’t want to take Sett all that seriously, and/or if you really want to rub salt in the wounds of your enemies. But it’s not getting my vote for the best.
3. Mecha Kingdoms Sett
Released: January 14th, 2020 Price: 1350 RP From what I’ve seen, Sett players either love this skin with all of their hearts, or absolutely despise it. On the one hand, you’re a badass robot whose character model has received more time and affection than Zilean in the past decade. On the other hand, you look kind of generic. And you’re fully clothed, which as we all know directly nerfs your damage. His abilities are equally as polarizing here too – because on the one hand you have jetpacks for your Q and R, which we can all agree is pretty badass. But on the other hand, your W doesn’t feel nearly as powerful as it does on other skins. But there’s also a case to be made that Mecha Kingdoms Sett does have additional voice lines, a good voice filter, and decent chromas. So now that we’re all out of hands to count this skin’s features, what are we left with? Personally, I think the skin is really cool, and makes for an amazing experience if you’re going full tank. But since you do lose some of that Sett energy, I have to leave it here.
2. Firecracker Sett
Released: January 26th, 2022 Price: 1350 RP Firecracker Sett feels a bit “out there” for Sett, but I’m honestly kind of vibing with it so far. The character model maintains Sett’s usual badassery, but also makes him look a lot more colorful and interesting, which is always a plus. And his visible abs prove that even a shirt can’t hold them down, so you still get some eye candy. When it comes to the animations, they’re mostly firework-themed, with the W truly feeling like the explosion it is. And your ult is more festive than ever. Plus, you get to go Super Saiyan with your passive. So the impact is definitely there. But I don’t care about that aspect as much as I’m obsessed with the fact that there are coin particles on all of your abilities. It feels like you’re bullying Sonic all of the time and just punching the shekels out of people’s pockets, which brings me a lot of joy. The splash art & the new backing animation do seem a bit odd, if you ask me. But at least the skin rocks some really solid chromas, so I’m honestly fine with it.
1. Obsidian Dragon Sett
Released: October 1st, 2020 Price: 1350 RP I know I praised Firecracker Sett for having a real sense of impact – but that’s honestly a joke compared to this beauty. First off, can we all just appreciate how undeniably badass this character model is? From the dragon tattoos to the horns on your head, you already know Obsidian Dragon Sett means business. And luckily, his animations and particles live up to the hype. Every ability is a literal explosion, with the W being even cooler since it leaves a trail of ash behind. So you’ll always feel like you’re doing big damage. Your ult even takes the extra step and adds a dragon animation to the mix, just to really secure that feeling of absolute power. Don’t worry, the dragon isn’t a one-off animation either, as it also returns for your backing animation. And even though this skin is already beating all of the others by like a mile, it keeps going with more! There’s both an amazing selection of chromas, and even a Prestige edition here. Mind you that I don’t usually care about Prestige skins at all, but even I have to admit this one is an absolute beaty. Overall, Obsidian Dragon Sett just slaps in every department – and is the clear victor if you ask me.
