Although that’s not how the quote goes, it makes for a nice segue… Brand skins, am I right? With a handful of blazing skin choices to pick from, you might be questioning which fiery purchase is most worth your dollar. That’s our goal here as we rank all of Brand’s skins from worst to best, ranking based on overall appeal and total price.
9. Apocalyptic Brand
Released: April 12th, 2011 Price: 750 RP You know you have a strong line-up when even your worst skin is this cool. Although the skin offers no new particles or animations, the base model carries it all the way to “worth it” town. It just makes him look like such a tortured psychopath that the base fire animations fit right in. From the charred body to the absolute nightmare that’s going on with his head, this Brand has obviously seen some stuff. And that stuff has taught him that you need a gas mask if you’re going to burn down entire villages. A very decent skin overall, that only falls short when compared to the others.
8. Cryocore Brand
Released: October 5th, 2011 Price: 975 RP Visually, Cryocore Brand is pretty neat. The futuristic looking armor makes you feel like a Batman villain with an obsession for puns – and the blue flames look really dope. I mean, there’s a reason why everyone likes Dabi from MHA so much. However, it does fall apart when you realize that this is supposed to be a freeze-centered skin. I guess you can jot down the dot damage to hypothermia, but there is no helping his emotes. All in all, it’s a good looking skin that doesn’t make the most sense.
7. Vandal Brand
Released: April 12th, 2011 Price: 520 RP I’m honestly disappointed that they didn’t do more with this idea, as it was already pretty great. It just dances around the idea of turning you into the Ghost Rider. The leather jacket is obviously the highlight of the skin, as it makes you feel insanely cool while your flaming head offers a reminder that you’re extremely hot. It’s not the most drastic character model overhaul ever, but I still think it’s pretty neat for what it is. Also, that splash art is just brilliant. You just know that he’s either burning someone alive or telling a very raunchy joke.
6. Debonair Brand
Released: December 9th, 2021 Price: 1350 RP This skin definitely had potential, and still has some good qualities, but flopped overall if you ask me. Let’s talk about the good parts first. The character model might have gotten rid of your fire, but you’re definitely hotter than ever. There are also some really good chromas here too – and a Prestige edition that makes you look like a million bucks. Also, the backing animation is very smooth and pleasant to look at. Now for the cons. The original voice over and the slouching position really ruin the classy aesthetic that Debonair Brand has going for it. Also, your abilities just feel underwhelming as hell. Your ult went from a blazing inferno to now just sounding like a muffled kick. And I do not approve of it. The only good thing about his new animations is that your passive is so underwhelming that the enemy can easily overlook it completely and spread the chaos. Overall, I can’t completely hate this skin, since it does have a good character model and it’s truly a good idea. But it really had to be a legendary to achieve what it set out to do.
5. Eternal Dragon Brand
Released: October 1st, 2020 Price: 1350 RP I’m going to level with you: the rest of Brand’s skins are all S-class. So the margins for their rankings are razor thin. The thing is, I really like Eternal Dragon Brand. The character model is incredibly detailed, and some of the new animations are top tier. The fact that your ult and passive now feature a tiny dragon really gives credence to your name. And your backing animation is some serious shounen anime business. But the reasons why this skin sits so far from the top are numerous. Number one, from a metagame standpoint, his Ws are easier to dodge. Number two, we already have enough humanoid characters, so I prefer Brand to be on the weirder side of things. Number three, there is no number three. Still a great skin.
4. Zombie Brand
Released: October 26th, 2012 Price: 1820 RP I know I’m going to get a few death threats for this one, but hear me out. When it comes to appearance alone, this skin is amazing. The character model is leaps and bounds ahead of most skins, and little details like your walking and homeguard animation really sell the theme. Your new voice lines and your new dance also give the skin quite a big dose of originality as well. However, the ability animations are far too mediocre for a skin of this caliber. It’s basically the base animation turned green with a few ooze particles sprinkled on top. I’m not saying that it’s bad, but the ability animation to price ratio heavily nerf this one in terms of ranking.
3. Spirit Fire Brand
Released: October 21st, 2015 Price: 1350 RP The main selling point for Spirit Fire Brand is how straightforward it is. Unlike a lot of the skins on here that go for a certain theme or gimmick, this just feels like you pressed the upgrade button on the base skin for Brand. Your ability animations are just more colorful and vibrant versions of themselves, and your base model makes you look like the same powerful but insane maniac that you always were. Okay, except for the mask, I guess. Overall it doesn’t swing in any direction too hard – but rather just provides upgrades all around.
2. Arclight Brand
Released: March 7th, 2019 Price: 1350 RP This skin honestly makes me feel like a god. The second you see that splash art, you just know that you’re in for a good time. And the in-game design does not disappoint! The weird mix of yellows and blues, as well as between high tech elements and more classical armor pieces, all make you look very unique, powerful, and present. And then you start casting abilities and find more of the same. The patterns that are present with almost every ability give this skin a very mystical vibe. And I’m here for it. Plus, it feels like having a Prestige skin without the extra hassle of actually getting one. If it wasn’t for my goofy brain, this would have been in the number one spot.
1. Battle Boss Brand
Released: August 8th, 2017 Price: 1350 RP I usually prefer badass skins over somewhat goofy/nerdy ones, but this is an exception. Arcade skins are just way too good in League of Legends. And Battle Boss Brand is the perfect showcase of that! Just look at all those 8-bit fire animations. Even your dance emote has 8-bit fire! Plus there are so many little details that bring the skin to life: The combo counter on your ult, the flying animation for your homeguard, the pixelized burn mark after you die, the voice filter, there’s just too much. Even the splash art is some next gen stuff. So even though it’s a really close call, Battle Boss Brand takes the crown in my book.
