Getting bright jelly will then help you complete one of the earlier requests you need in the game to progress the story. Aside from that, you can also use it in other construction buildings and upgrades. But the whole process starts with getting Gwen onboard the ship, following a couple of her early requests, and then getting introduced to the Jellyfish Event minigame.
Finding & Recruiting Gwen
Gwen is the first spirit that you’ll meet when you start the game.
Once you begin playing, you will see a cutscene where Charon introduces Stella to the job of being a spiritfarer, before ending up on the first location of the game: Alt Harbor (X: 43, Y: 40).
Upon arriving at the place, you will see a tall spirit in red standing on a platform on one side of the building. You will know it’s Gwen because the faint figure of a deer (with its antlers) will appear if you go near her.
Simply talk to her to recruit her aboard the ship, since she will want to help you clean up.
Luckily, there are no prior quests that you need in order to make her join you.
Once she’s aboard Stella’s ship, it’s all a matter of following a couple of short requests until you get the bright jelly minigame.
In any case, here are the requests that you need to complete:
The first quest is easy enough. Simply get beside Gwen and press the hug button to give her a warm embrace.
As you keep playing, the hug button will be instrumental in cheering the other passengers aboard Stella’s ship, or to simply show appreciation for them.
As for the next quest, the first step is to visit Albert’s Shipyard at the coordinates X: 61, Y: 64.
Luckily the shipyard is just close to Alt Harbor, and you should have no trouble reaching it at all.
Upon arriving there (and letting Albert welcome Stella with one of his many jokes), head on over to the blueprint station to acquire the first upgrade: the Beginner Blueprint Station, which is free.
Doing so unlocks the Guest House, Garden, Field, and lastly, the Kitchen.
After getting the upgrade, head back to the ship and talk to Gwen. Your next task is to tidy up your boat so you can set sail, and you can do this by heading over to your blueprint station atop the ship’s cabin.
This will provide the option to “salvage” the mess on the boat, which will provide you with:
20 Maple Logs 2 Old Shoes 3 Empty Bottles 1 Old Carpet
Head back to Gwen again and talk to her, and she will ask you to build a guest house for her. You can find this in the blueprint station, and requires 10 out of the 20 maple logs you acquired earlier. Hit build, and you’ll finish the request as Gwen finally gets her own space aboard the ship.
Bright Jelly Minigame (How To Play)
After building the lodge for Gwen, her next request will be “I Get Cranky When I’m Hungry,” where she will ask you to build a kitchen for cooking food. To build the kitchen, however, you will need Bright Jelly – and Gwen will introduce you to the mini-game where you can get it. From here, you’ll need to sail towards the Jellyfish Event Stage I location, located at X: 80, Y: 92. It’s just a short distance away from Albert’s Shipyard. When you arrive, Gwen will ask you to start the minigame. Once it starts, a few boxes with the bright jelly icon will appear on the right of the boat. This indicates where the Bright Jelly will float once it passes through the boat. To get them, simply go up and down the boat to reach the floating jellyfish. The yellow jellyfish will give you Glims to spend, while the green jellyfish will provide Bright Jelly. Just catch as much Bright Jelly as you can, and you’re good to go! Note: Once Gwen leaves the ship and passes through the Everdoor, you can start the event by going to one of the locations and indicating with the icon on the door of her lodge. If you want more challenge (and more Bright Jellies), the succeeding Jellyfish Event stages are located at:
Stage 2 – X: 63, Y: 163 Stage 3 – X: -8, Y: 92 Stage 4 – X: -49, Y: 131
Bright Jelly Uses
After acquiring a certain amount of Bright Jellies, you should be able to use them for these upgrades throughout the game (along with the other needed materials):
