There are no mandatory requirements to reach this area so the town is easy enough to access. But since Kandarin and its surrounding areas are members-only, Catherby is completely off-limits for free players.
Teleports & Routes To Catherby
We’d like to suggest 6 ways of getting to Catherby, listed below from best to worst:
Catherby teleport (Lunar spellbook) Charter a ship from any dock to Catherby (Price may vary) (White circle) Teleport to Camelot and running southeast (Red line) Skills Necklace teleport (Fishing Guild) and running east (Yellow line) Teleport to Ardougne and running northeast (Green line) Games Necklace teleport (Burthorpe) then run across White Wolf Mountain (Pink line)
As the name implies, Teleport to Catherby will leave you directly inside the town. Charter ships can be used from almost any port, but they may be expensive depending on the distance between both ends. Camelot is pretty close by, so it’s generally recommended. Ardougne and Burthorpe are quite far away, so they’re not recommended unless there are genuinely no other options available for you. For these two routes, be sure to bring some form of recovering run energy since you may end up walking! But once you get here, what’s there to do in Catherby? Let’s find out.
Fishing Spots in Catherby
Catherby’s fishing spots are fairly popular, since they’re close to a cooking range and a bank. This allows players to fish and cook their food, and quickly bank it to stock up on resources. Players of all levels may find this location useful, primarily due to the large variety of fish you can catch:
Lobsters, Tuna and Swordfish Shrimps, Anchovies, Sardine and Herring Mackerel, Cod, Bass, and Sharks
Farming Patches and Shops
If fishing isn’t your thing, then you may be interested in some Farming utilities. There are 4 patches available in this area: Two for allotments, one for flowers, and one for herbs. Along with the usual gardener and leprechaun, Vanessa runs a farming shop that sells all kinds of farming tools, including packs of filled plant pots, buckets, and sacks. And last but not least, there’s the usual compost bin. All compost bins in the game are identical, but this one is really close to a bank & the Charter Ship shop. So it’s extra convenient for stocking up on food (such as Pineapples) for supercompost, or depositing it in your bank once it’s finished!
NPC Shops in Catherby
Aside from the Farming shop, there are three more stores that might pique your interest.
Hickton’s Archery Emporium Harry’s Fishing Shop The Candle Shop
Hickton’s shop sells Ranged gear, oriented towards Fletching. This includes arrows, arrowtips and some bows. Additionally, for those who have mastered the Fletching skill, you may obtain its Skillcape for 99,000 coins! Slightly east, Harry runs a Fishing shop. He sells all kinds of tools, fishing bait, and he trades raw fish without stock. Additionally, if the player owns an adequate fishbowl, they may catch a small fish inside his shop with a tiny fishing net & keep them as pets! Then on the west corner of Catherby, the Candle Seller offers unlit candles for the cheap price of just 3 coins. He also plays a small part during Merlin’s Crystal, where he creates a black candle for the player. Lastly (while not technically a store), Caleb lives in the house in the middle of Catherby. He offers Cooking Gauntlets to those who have completed the Family Crest quest. These gloves will decrease the chances of burning food when cooking. Definitely get these if you haven’t already, since they’ll increase your profits in the long run! It’s also worth noting that some food won’t stop burning unless you wear these gloves (or a Cooking Skillcape). And that’s it! Catherby is a popular spot that offers a whole lot of unique for players of all levels. It’s also the first place that members will encounter if they’ve crossed through White Wolf Mountain. And if that’s the case, welcome to Kandarin!
