The dude might be building AD, but it is definitely the magic damage that’s doing the carrying. Unfortunately, those mixed damage charts can’t really carry his visual design, as the champion is an old man both conceptually and literally. But skins can help. And we’ll be looking at all of Corki’s skins to decide which are worth your while, taking into account what each skin offers and their prices. Let’s get started.
10. Red Baron Corki
Released: March 24th, 2010 Price: 1820 RP This is not even a skin, but a slap in the face to anyone who plays Corki. I genuinely believe that this is the laziest skin Corki has in his entire catalogue, being beaten out by many cheaper skins, and yet this one has among the highest price tags. And what do you get after you sell you kidney and purchase this skin? A lazy redesign that basically slaps some wings onto the original model, then takes off the propeller and covers it with some red paint. No new animations whatsoever, not for his abilities nor his recall animation. No voice filters, voice lines, special interactions, nothing. The only use for this skin is to flex how much money you’re willing to spend. And again, even if it was 520 RP, it would probably still be in last place.
9. Ice Toboggan Corki
Released: February 12th, 2010 Price: 1820 RP If you thought Red Baron Corki was the only slap in the face, I have some bad news. But at least this skin changes the character model significantly, taking out the iconic copter and subbing in an alien-looking shit with a rather unique design. However, I must again ask which behind Riot pulled this 1820 RP price point from. Because just like with Red Baron Corki, the character model is literally the only change that this skin brings to the table. It’s also extra strange that these two skins don’t even have great splash art. I’m going to move on before I pop a blood vessel or something.
8. UFO Corki
Released: January 1st, 2010 Price: Reward UFO Corki is nothing short of a veteran badge, as it was only given out to players who had an account all the way back in 2009. It has never been on sale since, and likely never will be, meaning that it’s quite the find if you’re a collector. That’s also the reason why it’s this low in the ranking. Well that, and the fact that it’s more of a badge and less of a trophy. The skin doesn’t add any new animations, but rather just reworks the base character model, substituting his usual ride for a scary-looking UFO. The design is pretty decent though, and I love how his ship looks angry all the time – but there’s a better skin coming up that hits a similar note. Plus, you’ll actually be able to get that one.
7. Hot Rod Corki
Released: July 27th, 2010 Price: 520 RP I have no real issues with this skin, it’s just okay. Like all the entries so far, it offers no new animations whatsoever. But unlike all of them, you can actually get Hot Rod Corki since it wasn’t priced by a crazy person. The character redesign here is mostly just a color swap, giving the copter some fresh paint and restoring some of the youth to Corki’s hair and eyebrows. But it all fits together pretty nicely. Corki looks younger, his ride is a bit more vibrant, and the name is so unintentionally dirty that I feel like that alone covers the cost of the skin. So if you’re looking for a very tame and simple redesign, give this one a try.
6. Fnatic Corki
Released: September 24th, 2014 Price: 750 RP As far as Championship team skins are concerned, Fnatic Corki is definitely on the more subtle side of things. He’s sporting the team colors and a badge of honor on his cap, but this skin is not nearly as “in your face” as they usually are. This is a great thing for casual players, and a debatable point for e-sport lovers. Corki’s ride has also been pimped up, making it look clean and brand new, and even adding a tiny gamer setup for when he’s not busy terrorizing his opponents. The skin is a lot more intricate than I had originally thought – but at the end of the day there are simply more interesting themes for Corki out there besides “subtle Fnatic gamer”. So it’s a pretty decent choice if you don’t want too ridiculous of a change, and/or if you’re a Fnatic fan.
5. Corgi Corki
Released: March 27th, 2019 Price: 1350 RP I know I literally just said that there are “more interesting themes for Corki” but man was I not expecting a doggo-copter. It goes without saying that this skin is pretty ridiculous, given that you’re flying into battle on a Corgi and whatnot… But the skin is also expertly crafted. The Corgi swings its paws while you fly, which is just adorable. Plus your W leaves paw prints on the ground, squeaky toy sound effects have been added to anything and everything, and your package is a bunch of dog treats. I mean, how wholesome and endearing is all that? The only reason I like it a bit less than the upcoming joke skin is because of the new E. It just looks extremely weird when you start dishing out rapid fire through a dog’s nose. Or if you don’t mind it, be sure to give this a look.
4. Urfrider Corki
Released: April 4th, 2011 Price: 975 RP I’m honestly a huge URF fanboy, so this skin was right up my alley. Corki already seems rather unhinged as a character. So it doesn’t take much imagination to explain why he’s riding the URF manatee strapped with a machine gun. It just seems like something he would do. Urfrider Corki offers some new visual and sound effects, but it’s nothing major: a redesign on the ult rockets, and the iconic manatee mating call going off whenever you use your W. The manatee is also carrying his beloved spatula, which I just find hilarious given what’s on his back. All in all, this is a very funny skin that doesn’t take itself too seriously, doesn’t overcharge, and doesn’t shoot bullets out of a Corgi.
3. Arcade Corki
Released: August 24th, 2016 Price: 1350 RP The problem I have with base skin Corki is that his ship doesn’t look intimidating enough. It’s a literal hunk of junk that looks like it’s going to crash down any second now. This skin, however, completely changes that view. The base model is just crisp, with a very simple yet very cool retro spaceship/plane design with your guns floating right by your side. The arcade theme also made its way into the animation department, as all the abilities have been pixelized, giving off those classic retro sound effects when they meet an unsuspecting victim. Overall, Arcade Corki is just cool as hell. And it makes Corki feel a lot newer design-wise, which is something he desperately needs. I have no complaints about it – so this skin and the rest of my choices are very close when it comes to ranking.
2. Dragonwing Corki
Released: February 8th, 2013 Price: 975 RP Although this isn’t the skin I like the most out of the bunch, I can confidently say that it is the best bang for your buck. For just 975 RP you get beautiful brand-new ability animations, a really fun recall animation, new sound effects, and an epic splash art. It might as well pay my taxes for me as well, since it just decided to do everything. The Eastern theme is brilliantly implemented here, with different fireworks for every ability, and a cool-looking dragon head as the center of his new ship. Even smaller details are great, like the fact that the propellers were substituted for fans. It just makes this skin feel vibrant and alive. So if you truly want to go to sleep knowing that you got the best deal, this is the skin to choose.
1. Astronaut Corki
Released: July 1st, 2021 Price: 1350 RP In these lists I always try to be budget-oriented, and to not just give the W to the newest skin. But man, is it impossible not to love Astronaut Corki. The copter is now a slick space ship with giant jets on the back, and a little alien in the front seat. That alone is pretty hype. But Corki has also been given a makeover, with a new spacesuit and a voice filter to really sell that space voyage theme. And don’t get me started on the animations… Everything is just so polished and smooth that for a second, you actually feel like you’re playing a new champion. The stands-out features to me here are the little alien dude that just floats around after you throw out your Q (no I’m not kidding), and the asteroid debris that flows around while your E is activated. Astronaut Corki is just a 10/10 in every regard – and I love it. Note: this content was created under Riot Games’ “Legal Jibber Jabber” policy using assets owned by Riot Games.
