Fizz is especially notorious in this regard, as apparently not even the gods can smite him when he’s one foot off the ground on his trident. And if you’re already going to cause someone severe emotional pain for like half an hour, you might as well look good while doing it. So let’s rank all the cosmetics Fizz currently has, looking at his skins based on price and appeal, to decide which are the most worth getting.
9. Atlantean Fizz
Released: November 15th, 2011 Price: 520 RP Atlantean Fizz was among the two launch skins for Fizz, and you can kind of feel its age since it is rather lazy. Fizz already looks like someone who could be from Atlantis. And this skin just gives you a slightly altered version of the base skin. There’s very little in terms of particles, other than your shark wearing matching armor to you, and the character model change is on the minimal side as well. I will say though that Fizz’s eyes in this skin scare the hell out of me. I feel like he’s seen the death of the universe. It’s pretty cheap too, so it isn’t a huge loss if you do get it. But I think you can find a more distinct and creative skin in his catalogue.
8. Fuzz Fizz
Released: March 27th, 2019 Price: 1350 RP This skin goes in the exact opposite direction of the prior one – and it just takes too many liberties. This isn’t even Fizz anymore! The character model is unrecognizable, and his overall design just features a lot of missed opportunities. As many Fizz mains have pointed out, the voice-over for this skin is abysmal. Fizz’s voice lines make absolutely no sense with this skin. And the fact that he still yells “shark” instead of “bark” just feels insulting. I’m also not a huge fan of the sound effects, as even though they are initially funny, and there’s a squeaky toy effect whenever you auto-attack someone with your W, it gets old and irritating pretty quickly. Overall, this skin can be fun to put on every now and then. But it sucks as a go-to pick.
7. Tundra Fizz
Released: November 15th, 2011 Price: 750 RP Tundra Fizz is just okay overall. It doesn’t bring much to the table in terms of animations and effects, aside from a redesign on your ult, but I can’t say that it is all that bad either. The character model redesign is about what you would expect, giving Fizz some actual clothes so that he doesn’t freeze to death, and the theme makes sense too. Your ult is a killer whale – and considering this was the second launch skin, it has held up well enough. I will say that it could have been slightly better with some freeze particles. But even that wouldn’t have changed much about the ranking. It’s just an alright skin that won’t exactly blow others out of the water, pun intended, but will hold its own.
6. Super Galaxy Fizz
Released: May 25th, 2016 Price: 1350 RP I’m slightly torn on this. On the one hand, Super Galaxy Fizz has some really clean particles and animations, plus a really dynamic and fun backing animation, and a detailed character model with a well-made splash art. But on the other hand, this skin feels thematically a bit off. You get brand new particles on all of your abilities, so you don’t really get that same aquatic feeling with this skin – even though Fizz keeps talking about the sea and such. I can’t say it’s bad by any stretch of the imagination. But thematically I would probably go down a different route. Although if you like some sci-fi robot shark action, give it a whirl.
5. Cottontail Fizz
Released: August 9th, 2015 Price: 975 RP If your main goal in every game is to tilt your opponents as much as possible, this is arguably the best way to do it. Cottontail Fizz makes Fizz look ridiculous – and that fact will mentally weigh on your opponents every time they get killed. What’s more frustrating than a rabbit costume wearing fish popping a carrot above your head, or summoning a rabid rabbit and killing you? And then you can even spam your recall animation to really rub salt in the wounds. I can’t say this skin is perfect, since the base water particles make no sense here. But that smug face in the splash art begins the torment before you even enter a match, so I have to give it props.
4. Little Devil Fizz
Released: October 22nd, 2020 Price: 1350 RP Fizz has two “scary” skins, and I wracked my brain for hours trying to decide which one I like better. Here’s where I landed. Little Devil Fizz undoubtedly has the best ult out of any Fizz skin. You summon a demon Teemo to eat your enemy, and that fact alone puts this skin into the big leagues. That being said, the fact that this skin has no voice filter just makes it feel lazy. Even if the voice lines didn’t make any sense, considering this skin is all about fire, a voice filter would have pushed this skin higher – but alas, it was not meant to be.
3. Void Fizz
Released: April 6th, 2014 Price: 1350 RP This skin basically has the same level of nifty & cool features as the last one, but it has a voice changer as well. I really can’t overstate how important that is for skins like this. The character model is really well-made in my opinion, as it keeps that aquatic theme of the original while also just going ham and giving you a third eye. I also really like that your trident is alive, so bonus spook points on that one. True, summoning a random Void monster isn’t as exciting as Devil Teemo. But at least Void Fizz feels consistent and well-rounded.
2. Omega Squad Fizz
Released: July 26th, 2017 Price: 1350 RP If you just want the highest quality skin and don’t care much about price, this is honestly the best skin you can get in my opinion. Thematically, it makes perfect sense, as you’re still an underwater warrior. Omega Squad Fizz even offers brand new crisp bubble particles to give you that extra clarity the base skin doesn’t have. The character model is everything it should be here, and the backing animation is extravagant and fun. Plus your ult is a war dolphin, which is just epic. This skin even offers a voice filter to really make you feel like some sort of marine. Really, the theme fits Fizz perfectly. Everything makes sense and it’s definitely a huge step up from the base skin.
1. Fisherman Fizz
Released: April 1st, 2012 Price: 975 RP Whenever I make these rankings, I always look what the mains of the champion have to say – and man do Fizz mains love this skin. Even though it’s one of the oldest and simplest skins in Fizz’s catalogue, so many Fizz mains swear by this skin that I had to give it the number one spot. I mean, thematically everything makes perfect sense here – you’re a literal fisherman who obviously lives his life on water. And the character model is quite simple yet to the point, so I can see where players are coming from. It’s also a bit more satisfying to jab people with a harpoon than a trident. And to top it all off, your ult summons the one and only URF manatee, which will always lead to heaps of brownie points. Fisherman Fizz might not have been a predictable outcome, but I can understand why it’s top-tier skin material.
