It was fast-paced, fun, and the augments allowed you to interact with champions in a whole new way. Sadly, despite its popularity, Riot has outright said that Odyssey: Extraction was a “one-off” game mode and will never return to our clients. So unless someone bribes the Riot team into changing their minds, it’s safe to say the only way to relive this game mode is in our dreams. And of course, by buying an Odyssey skin.

12. Odyssey Sona

Released: September 12th, 2018 Price: 1350 RP Before I even delve into the actual skin here, I need to take a moment to praise the artist behind the splash art. It’s absolutely stunning. Clearly a lot of thought, effort, and talent has gone into making this splash art, and it really shows. From the splash art alone, you’d think the in-game model would be of Ultimate quality. Sadly, the splash art is really the only decent thing about Odyssey Sona. The in-game model is clunky, obtrusive, and really doesn’t suit Sona at all. The animations, which are pretty much just a bunch of geometric shapes, are also lackluster.

11. Odyssey Malphite

Released: September 12th, 2018 Price: 1350 RP Odyssey Malphite is a visual treat that’s sure to please any sci-fi-lover. Every element of the character design gives off a “badass outer space hero vibe,” from the metallic, mecha-inspired armor to the holographic gauntlets. However, there is one thing about this skin I can’t look past. And that’s the shield transformation. When the shield is broken, Malphite loses any semblance of his space hero identity and instead becomes this weird alien creature. But if you can look past this? The skin still has some nifty stuff on offer. The recall is hilarious, the animations are slick, and the ultimate makes you feel insanely powerful. There’s also a nice range of chromas available.

10. Odyssey Yasuo

Released: September 12th, 2018 Price: 1350 RP This is definitely one of the most unique Yasuo skins out there, and I’m sold on most of it (“most” being the keyword here). I absolutely love the playful design, vibrant colors, and adorable alien sidekick, and the sound effects are seriously satisfying. The splash art also turns Yasuo into the coolest space dude in existence. Sadly, the attack animations are a bit of a letdown. They’re basically just recolors of Yasuo’s base model animations. The recall, which is essentially just Yasuo slashing through some space orbs, doesn’t wow me either.

9. Odyssey Twisted Fate

Released: October 15th, 2020 Price: 1350 RP When I first heard that Riot were making an Odyssey skin for Twisted Fate, I really didn’t expect it to work. But hey, I’m pleasantly surprised. Twisted Fate seriously suits the intergalactic smuggler look, and he still manages to maintain all his cowboy charm. Plus the new card animations are bold, vibrant, and look ultra powerful. Now, although the cards are total eyecandy — and make you feel like a badass space cowboy while you battle it out — there is a slight problem with them. They stand out way too much, meaning your enemies are going to have an easier time dodging them. So yep, this isn’t a skin to take into ranked.

8. Odyssey Aatrox

Released: October 15th, 2020 Price: 1350 RP This skin is one of the most popular Aatrox skins out there, but I’m personally not a fan. The character model just looks weird and clunky to me. I appreciate what they were going for — a badass purple alien of some sorts — but it just reminds me of a budget Thanos. Nevertheless, I do like a few other aspects of this skin. The fiery sword is a total vibe, the auto-attack animations are slick, and the ultimate transformation is legendary material. Plus, the recall is literally Aatrox ripping a hole in space and time (hopefully it won’t trigger a multiversal incursion).

7. Odyssey Karma

Released: October 15th, 2020 Price: 1350 RP This skin transforms Karma into a space goddess, and while the sci-fi theme is pretty subtle, I still really like the overall design. The colors complement Karma beautifully, the gold crown adds a touch of sophistication, and the glowing arms immerse you in the ethereal, godly vibe. I also love the fact that she wields the sun’s power and changes up the universe in her recall. Sadly, while the animations are slick and flashy, it’s kind of hard to appreciate them due to Karma’s clunky model. So until Karma gets a swanky new rework, this skin is staying here in our ranking.

6. Odyssey Jinx

Released: September 12th, 2018 Price: 1350 RP This skin captures Jinx’s explosive, insane personality like no other, and I’m here for it. Her iconic blue braids have been swapped out for fiery punk hair, and she now rocks the most badass space-inspired armor to ever grace the Rift. The skin has even somehow managed to make her facial expression a hundred times more psychotic. While the character design is pure perfection — and sure to disappoint Pow-Pow — the skin is sadly let down by its animations. They feel pretty clunky and awkward, especially the auto attacks. But hey, if you’re after style over substance? The animations still look great and there’s plenty of playful ideas thrown in. For example, Jinx’s chompers have been replaced with hangry robot heads. Oh, and the ult is now a giant meteorite, which takes “hardhitting” to a whole other level.

5. Odyssey Kha’Zix

Released: October 15th, 2020 Price: 1350 RP This skin transforms Kha’Zix into a ruthless intergalactic bounty hunter, and I’m here for it. The character model is absolutely badass, with a mecha suit that puts Mecha Kha’Zix to shame, and the colors work insanely well together. The evolved wings look particularly fire. The animations and particle effects are also impressive. Each ability immerses you in the intergalactic theme. Plus the backing animation is downright hilarious — it’s literally a bounty hunter version of Tinder. And by that, I mean he’s swiping to find his next target instead of his next date. Yeah. I think Kha’Zix would give the Tinder Swindler a run for his money.

4. Odyssey Sivir

Released: October 15th, 2020 Price: 1350 RP Ah. Finally. A Sivir skin that truly makes you feel like a total badass. The character model screams cyberpunk, the particle effects are edgy and packed with spacey, futuristic inspiration, and the weapon looks like it could slice through even the tankiest of opponents. You also get a nifty neon trail as you ult and chase after your target. All in all, this skin delivers on all fronts, and is one of the best Sivir skins you can pick up right now. Plus, there’s tons of swanky chromas available, with each one giving Sivir a new color theme, hairstyle, and jacket design.

3. Odyssey Ziggs

Released: September 12th, 2018 Price: 1350 RP Explosive and packed with creativity, this is a must-have skin for any Ziggs main. The colors are stunning, the futuristic character model is on point, and the animations transform the Rift into an intergalactic battlezone. Plus, it has an undeniable Ratchet and Clank feel to it, which pleases my inner child. My favorite aspect of the skin though? It’s the recall. Ziggs getting beamed up, only for his bombs to be too big to fit into the UFO, is both adorable and hilarious. It just instantly detilts me everytime I see it.

2. Galaxy Slayer Zed

Released: April 18th, 2019 Price: 1820 RP Galaxy Slayer Zed is a dream skin for any assassin. And for good reason: it’s sure to induce nightmares in any overextended opponent. I mean, you literally transform into Doctor Octopus and stab your enemies with terrifying, robotic arms. Plus the sound effects sound like they came straight out of a futuristic horror movie. The actual character model is also absolutely stunning. It stays true to Zed’s character while elevating his overall look, with some sci-fi and mecha inspiration thrown in. And if that’s not won you over? Well, there’s still plenty on offer. From hilarious emotes — with my personal favorite being Zed roasting alien bugs over a campfire with his shadow self — to unique voice lines. In fact, one of the in-game voice lines is worth the RP in itself; Zed actually references the iconic Faker vs Ryuu play. My only real complaint? The splash art is seriously underwhelming.

1. Odyssey Kayn

Released: September 12th, 2018 Price: 1820 RP Let’s just get this out of the way: Odyssey Kayn is a skin capable of topping Galaxy Slayer Zed. So yeah. Calling it an excellent skin is an understatement. It honestly feels like an ultimate skin masquerading under a legendary skin’s price tag. The splash art transforms Kayn into an unbeatable, sci-fi battle boss – and provides some soul-destroying extra details — and the in-game character model is truly breathtaking. Every aspect is insanely polished, beautifully designed, and bursting with outer space energy. The animations are totally badass too. Your auto-attacks feel insanely slick, the ultimate gives you a “Watcher” vibe, and traversing through structures transforms you into a holographic entity. To top it all off, both of Kayn’s forms are works of art. The red form gives you a hellish, demonic makeover, while the blue form makes you look like an emperor from an alternate dimension. Truly, nothing can surpass the alien edgelord. Note: this content was created under Riot Games’ “Legal Jibber Jabber” policy using assets owned by Riot Games.
