Sure, you get a pentakill or nail a complex combo here and there, but there’s always another player out there that’ll put you in your place sooner or later. And if it’s not another player, it’s the League of Legends’ mastery score system — finish the game 20/0/8? Here’s an A- for your efforts! But what if I told you there’s a way to feel like a total God, even if you finish the game 0/10? Even if you demote a whole division? And even if your teammates hurl insults at you like “plebeian,” “trash,” and “jung diff?” Enter the Immortal Journey skins: a whole line dedicated to making you feel like the God you were meant to be.
10. Enduring Sword Talon
Released: September 4th, 2018 Price: 1350 RP Before I comment on anything else, let’s just take a moment to appreciate the cape design. The colors, the details, the touches of gold — it’s a fantastic concoction. But apart from the cape, nothing else about the character model really captures my eye. In fact, some of the design choices are pretty questionable. For starters, Riot has made Talon hold a sword at all times, which, you know, kind of ruins the whole “stealthy assassin” look. The white anime hair also doesn’t really fit Talon. Nevertheless, the animations and particle effects are as stunning as the cape design, and the sound effects are clear, non-grating, and further immerse you in the godly theme. The recall, while simple, is also pretty nifty to watch.
9. Soaring Sword Fiora
Released: September 27th, 2017 Price: 1350 RP Soaring Sword Fiora is a skin bursting with grace and elegance. Although the character model is on the simple side, it works insanely well and has plenty of eyecatching details. The animations are also clean, ultra slick, and boast fantastic visual clarity, all qualities that are sure to help you secure pentakill after pentakill. My only real complaint about this skin is that the hair is pretty one-dimensional and lacks texture. But aside from that? This skin is faultless. The recall is also captivating and shows off Fiora’s control over the blade.
8. Majestic Empress Morgana
Released: September 26th, 2019 Price: 1350 RP This skin was met with a mixed reception when it first came out. Not because the skin is bad, but because it doesn’t really honor Morgana’s dark, witchy theme. In fact, it turns her into the complete opposite: a magical, bright, and optimistic angel. Personally, I absolutely love this skin. Mainly because I’m a sucker for pastel colors, gorgeous wings, and fae-like qualities — all features that Majestic Empress Morgana has. The animations are particularly captivating. They draw inspiration from the flashy, showy colors of a peacock, and mix this with stars and spiritual energy. The ultimate also makes you feel like an ultra-powerful deity. Now, the ult sound effect does get a little grating after a while, but since every other sound effect is top notch, I can’t really complain too much.
7. Sacred Sword Janna
Released: September 27th, 2017 Price: 1350 RP This skin puts Janna in touch with her zen side. So yep, it transforms her from the “storm’s fury” to the “storm’s eye.” Her outfit is packed with soft hues, the animations are whimsical and gentle, and the sound effects are soothing to the soul. She even has a little koi fish sidekick to aid her in battle. The recall and homeguard animations are a little dull, but if you’re the type to get insta-tilted by an ADC flaming “supp diff” in chat? This skin might be what you need to help you stay untiltable.
6. Eternal Sword Yi
Released: September 27th, 2017 Price: 1350 RP If you can look past the dull splash art — and the fact that it throws away Yi’s signature mask — this skin has a lot going for it. The character model is divine, expressive, and truly emphasizes Yi’s patient, zen personality. The sword also looks equal parts badass and elegant. What really makes this skin deserving of the #6 spot though is the overall feel of it. No other Master Yi skin feels this smooth, slick, and satisfying. It’s a total gamechanger. Even your auto-attacks feel great.
5. God Staff Jax
Released: January 11th, 2018 Price: 1350 RP Let’s be real: Jax’s base skin is one of the most underwhelming and lackluster designs out there — you can be ahead by 15 kills and still feel insignificant. But equip the God Staff skin? It all changes. The character design screams “total power,” and each ability shatters your enemies’ health bars while blinding them with divine light. So yeah, this skin truly makes you feel like a God, no matter if you’re ahead by 15 kills, even with your opponent, or running it down mid. And it’s a seriously satisfying feeling. My only gripe about this skin? Riot should have released it sooner.
4. Splendid Staff Nami
Released: September 26th, 2019 Price: 1350 RP I splurged my money on this skin as soon as it was released to the store. It’s well-polished, honors Nami’s character, and basically transforms her into a mermaid. As a kid, I always wanted to be a mermaid – yes, blame H2O — and this skin lets me live out that childhood dream in a way where I won’t receive judging stares. Aside from the mermaid vibe, the skin is abundant in cuteness, frills, flowers, and pink hues. The animations are also super sparkly and playful; the W lets you throw fish at your enemies, while the ultimate summon up a water dragon. To top it all off? The recall is basically a reference to Ariel’s iconic transformation. So yeah, definitely pick this skin up if you’re a hardcore Disney fan.
3. Valiant Sword Riven
Released: September 26th, 2016 Price: 1350 RP Move over Battle Bunny Riven, there’s a new body pillow-worthy skin in town. Jokes aside, Valiant Sword Riven is top tier. It’s nailed the “sexy but badass” look, and every element is creative, slick, and refined. What really makes this skin stand out though? The swords. Yep. Not just because of their gorgeous designs, but because there’s just so darn many of them. Virtually every ability summons up swords in some way or another, and the ultimate is essentially a tsunami of golden swords. She even rides a giant sword in her home guard animation. Yeah. This is definitely “the” skin for sword fanatics. The Prestige Edition is also worth mentioning. Some Prestige skins are just recolors and fail to live up to the “bougie” price difference. Prestige Valiant Sword Riven, however, is the complete opposite: it goes overboard and feels like it should be worth a limb (or two). Not only do you get a new, shiny splash art, but you also get plenty of awesome features that up her goddess vibe, like the intricate crown and gold armor adorned with jewels. Even her swords and animations receive a bougie glow up. All in all, this is a skin that screams style, class, and power – and I’m here for it.
2. Divine Sword Irelia
Released: September 4th, 2018 Price: 1350 RP Let’s get this out of the way first: Whoever created Divine Sword Irelia’s splash art deserves a raise. It’s just so, so beautiful. The pose, her outfit, the perspective, light, colors — everything blows me away. In truth, I’ve actually used this as my desktop wallpaper, despite the fact that I don’t play Irelia. And while some in-game character models barely live up to their splash art, this isn’t the case for Divine Sword Irelia. The character model is just as polished. Her outfit manages to be battle-ready yet stylish, her swords have a “divine” feel, and her flowing bands add an air of elegance while she fights. Plus the animations are totally ethereal, with golden petals and a whole lot of light and sparkles. Oh, and the recall is basically Irelia summoning up a dragon and riding it across the map. A total power move.
1. God Fist Lee Sin
Released: April 5th, 2017 Price: 1820 RP God Fist Lee Sin is famous among the League of Legends community, and for one reason only. It’s considered to be one of the best, if not the best, skins in the game. The skin honors and upgrades Lee Sin in every way. The splash art is awe-worthy, the character model is imbued with the power of the gods, and the sound effects are heavenly. And of course, as it’s a Legendary skin, the animations are out of this world. In fact, they actually take you into an alternative world: Lee Sin’s attacks now transform him into a Super Saiyan. Obviously, fighting with this skin is an absolute dream, and it makes all of your flashy combas even flashier. The emotes are also fun, spammable, and packed with plenty of gags (like Lee Sin’s foot catching fire from kicking too fast). And to top it all off? Lee now looks like he followed One Punch Man’s exercise routine to a T (and yes, I’m referring to the well-developed abs).
