He had charisma, always saved people while wearing a smile, and inspired countless kids to become heroes as well. It also helps that he’s the strongest dude around, being able to shift the weather with his punches. However, just because he’s the strongest in his universe, doesn’t mean he’s unbeatable in the grand scheme of anime. To prove said point, we’re going to count down some truly powerful anime characters that could probably beat All Might. I’ll try to avoid overkill characters like Goku and Saitama here, because people disagreeing with me is way more fun.

15. Alessi

Anime: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders To really get the disagreement train going, we’ll start with the cheesiest of all possible victories. Alessi’s Stand allows him to reverse-age anyone whose shadow he touches. Since All Might can’t even see Stands, getting to his shadow is rather simple. And then one of two things happen: Either All Might reverts back to his Quirkless younger self and gets absolutely beat up by a creepy old dude, or All Might somehow keeps his power and immediately breaks his entire body when he tries to use it. I mean, do you remember how much time it took Deku to get the hang of it? And in JoJo’s, when the power was used on Polnareff, he did forget how to properly use his Stand. So it’s not at all far-fetched for the same to happen to All Might.

14. Tatsumi

Anime: Akame ga Kill! This one would be extremely close, but I do think I can make a case for Tatsumi’s victory. I don’t think that Tatsumi can beat All Might when it comes to raw strength. But I do think he can outpace him in terms of speed and durability. This is also a good time to mention that we’re not talking about prime All Might, as it has never been shown in the anime. If we compare both of these characters’ final fights, we can see them tanking city-destroying attacks from their enemies. And to be blunt, I think Tatsumi handled it better. He tanked point blank lasers, got slammed into the ground by a giant robot, and flew through several buildings, and still had enough strength to stop the descent of said giant robot. Plus, he learned how to fly and even dodged some of the lasers, which is a testament to his speed. I’m not saying that he outperformed All Might by leaps and bounds. But I do think that he could simply tank a lot of the damage, and eventually get a chance to take All Might down.

13. Kurapika

Anime: Hunter x Hunter (2011) If we were to assume that Kurapika was bloodlusted and vowed to only use his Nen on All Might, I’m pretty confident he could take him down. To prove this, we have to look at Uvogin. Uvogin is the muscle of the show. And he shares a lot of similarities to All Might. A single punch can obliterate the ground and leave a massive crater, plus he’s an absolute hunk of HP in terms of durability, and his speed is very explosive. Kurapika was so far above Uvogin that he literally brought a shovel to the duel so he could bury his body. This is because of his nature as a specialist, and because his chains just completely counter melee fighters. He has the tenacity to eat strong punches, the speed and strength to dish them back, and the ability to completely chain you down and one-shot you. A literal bazooka didn’t graze Uvogin – and yet a chain went straight though him. And I think All Might would meet the same fate, be it with a lot higher difficulty.

12. Yami Sukehiro

Anime: Black Clover Finally, one muscular man against another, the way God intended. I think Yami just beats out All Might when it comes to what his kit can offer. All Might can just punch hard and take a good beating, while Yami’s abilities give him plenty of tools to surprise his opponent with. The combination of ki perception and Mana Zone makes it so Yami can always predict an attack – and his Dark Energy gives him several long-range attacks. Mind you, one of those attacks can literally puncture and decimate a mountain like it was nothing. On top of all that, Yami is comparable to All Might in terms of raw movement speed and tenacity. Therefore, I think the gap in strength is more than made up for by Yami’s numeral somewhat broken skills.

11. Menthuthuyoupi

Anime: Hunter x Hunter (2011) Youpi is just too much of an HP sponge for All Might to deal with. The dude can just take on one opponent after the next, get punched, zapped, and even taxed, and still walk without a wobble in his step. Every time he gets damaged, he simply evolves to a stronger state. He’s also a nightmare to fight, as he has eyes everywhere, can swing his arms around at incredible speeds, and can even form spikes whenever someone does manage to get a hit in. Even with a clear shot, I don’t think Youpi could ever kill a rested All Might. However, we’re talking about a weakened version of him – meaning that his power is bound to run out sooner or later and make him vulnerable.

10. Pack

Anime: Re: Zero To be precise, for this entry we’re talking about a completely enraged Pack who has entered his beast mode. To gauge this fight we actually have to look at Deku’s fight with Todoroki. Ice is difficult to deal with, as you need to throw out constant punches to keep it at bay, giving you limited time to counter-attack. And if All Might makes tournament Deku look like a baby, Pack makes Todoroki look like a sperm. The dude can freeze the entire world and is physically massive – meaning that you can’t just walk up to him and one shot him. Well, unless you have hax abilities, but that’s besides the point here. All Might could deal with the first few waves by throwing out full power punches – but I think Pack can create a lot more ice than All Might can deal with, eventually leading to his death

9. Obito Uchiha

Anime: Naruto: Shippuden In My Hero Academia, Mirio’s ability to phase through things is considered one of the most powerful Quirks that you can have, and for good reason. So imagine having said phasing ability, perhaps to an even bigger level, plus a Sharingan. That’s how you get Obito. The dude is just too skilled with his phasing ability, and could simply dodge every major punch All Might could throw his way – and retaliate with his chains, a fireball, or the giant demon fox he has under his control. That’s right, I’m not even talking about end-game Obito here. But rather the one Minato faced. All Might is a good fighter. But I simply don’t think he could ever have the same level of finesse as Minato to take Obito out.

8. Merlin

Anime: The Seven Deadly Sins This would probably be one of the most irritating fights to watch, as Merlin would just kite the hell out of All Might. She can teleport around to avoid any major punches, put up barriers to protect herself from the immense air currents, and box All Might in when he gets too close. All the while putting down magic traps that would ruin All Might’s day. We saw how powerful these traps could be when Merlin faced the original demons – and I have no doubt they would be strong enough for All Might. They literally scan a person to find their weakness, and then apply that effect every time you move so much as a finger. If All Might caught Merlin by surprise, then maybe I could see him emerging victorious. But if they’re on an equal playing-field he’s going to get rekt.

7. Tatsumaki

Anime: One Punch Man I saw a few discussions around “what rank would All Might be in the One Punch Man universe?” And there’s a reason why few put him above S-class rank 3. Tatsumaki is simply too much of a beast for someone like All Might to handle – as she possesses so much raw power it’s impossible to keep up with. She honestly feels like a second Saitama at times. Being an esper, Tatsumaki can easily keep her distance in the air, yeeting All Might away if he ever jumps towards her – and then just pelt him with literal mountains until he inevitably dies. And that’s not even an overstatement, as we’ve seen just how much force Tatsumaki can control. Be it shells from a giant spaceship, or a literal meteor, Tatsumaki can throw anything at you. And it’s your job to somehow survive it.

6. Might Guy

Anime: Naruto: Shippuden Back on the melee fighter side of things, we have Might Guy. To be blunt, he has to open up at least the 8th gate to stand in the ring – and possibly the 9th in order to guarantee a victory. The main factor in this fight will be the sheer difference in movement speed. All Might has a few impressive feats, like dodging an explosion point blank. But they’re far too inconsistent to give him the title of a speedy boy. Guy, on the other hand, has shown such consistent feats, zipping around so quickly that it’s impressive just to vaguely keep up with him. There’s no question as to whether he would blitz most opponents. All Might’s strength feats are a bit more impressive. But given the fact that he probably won’t be able to land a single one, it’s somewhat irrelevant here.

5. Sinbad

Anime: Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic This is another case of “oh you only have one power? Sucks to suck”. No wonder they fixed that issue with Deku. Sinbad can simply do too much. He can slow down your reaction time to the point of barely knowing where the opponent is. Or he can then scream at you to make you all dizzy and a bit brainwashed, only to then blast you to heaven using one of many elemental skills. Even if the first two steps don’t work somehow, and let’s say he’s bound to only one Djinn equip, he can still dish out enough consistent long-range AoE damage that All Might would spend all of his energy on defense. It was working quite well for All for One, so I don’t see why this would be any different. Especially when taking into account that Sinbad casually blows up entire mountain ranges.

4. Satoru Gojou

Anime: Jujutsu Kaisen Gojou is borderline unfair when it comes to 1v1s. He just naturally counters every and all enemies. His Limitless ability would be especially difficult for All Might to deal with, as it prevents any punch from actually hitting Gojou. There’s an infinite space around Gojou at all times – and even the United States of Smash are not getting over that obstacle. Plus, Gojou has shown speed feats that far outclass All Might, lowering the chances of a direct hit even more. True, Gojou couldn’t really one-shot All Might either. His destructive power caps out at about hill level – but he could just slowly chip away at him while remaining unscratched.

3. Ainz Ooal Gown

Anime: Overlord Just take everything I’ve said about Sinbad, and amplify it a few times to get Ainz. The dude just has too many skills to choose from. And somehow, each one of them is strong enough to wipe out a village. He can summon minions in order to keep himself safe, place down traps to constrict All Might’s movements, put on protection buffs to avoid any meaningful damage, and blast the battlefield with giant AoE spells to dish out some real damage. There’s simply very little someone like All Might can do in this situation without either cheesing the fight, or getting outside help.

2. Mori Jin

Anime: The God of High School This fight would honestly be extremely hype. The reason for said hype is that the fight would be rather close, and come down to pure skill. While All Might is punching clouds out of the air, Jin is using his staff in order decimate the group and crush anything below it. Both characters just have a lot of destructive power. But even more importantly, both are excellent at hand-to-hand combat. Jin is objectively squishier than All Might – but he also has a lot more versatility with his staff. However, I do think Jin would emerge victorious in the end through a combo of god-tier martial arts and some sneaky surprise attacks with his staff.

1. Rimuru Tempest

Anime: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime The show’s narrative properly started with a slime character. So it’s rather poetic to end this list with one as well. In the anime, we’ve already seen the issues that a slime character poses to a melee hero – as he has to rely on air pressure more than anything to defeat that kind of enemy. However, cheap tricks like that don’t really work on Rimuru. Not only does he have a dozen or so abilities under his belt, but he would also have the common sense to simply wrap around your arm before your hit lands. And unlike the slime in My Hero Academia, who just kind of made you feel uncomfortable and invade your personal space, Rimuru would just suck the One for All straight out of All Might’s body via his Predator ability.
