And Madara might just be at the very top when it comes to hype. So I say it’s time to give the people what they want as we count down a variety of anime characters that can likely take out Madara in battle.
10. Meliodas
Anime: The Seven Deadly Sins I’m going to start off with Meliodas, as he’s the most controversial pick on this list. The two are very similar when it comes to their stats, aside from destructive power and tenacity. Madara dropping meteors casually definitely blows a lot of Meliodas’ feats out of the water – but Meliodas’ near-invincibility far surpasses Madara’s backstab-able self. Being that Meliodas can break literal curses set forth by gods, I don’t think stuff like genjutsu would work on him all that well. And his clones would help keeping Madara’s own clones at bay. But I honestly think the fight would be extremely long, with both combatants being near their limit, and then Meliodas ending it all with a fully stacked Revenge Counter.
9. Giorno Giovanna
Anime: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind I tried to stay away from hax characters, but Madara’s strength forced my hand. And once he’s gotten Golden Experience Requiem, Giorno is basically invincible. Nothing can hurt him – as he can literally undo anything and everything in existence. A lot of people who are into these hypothetical “versus battles” like to point out that just because you can’t hurt Giorno doesn’t mean he actually has the firepower to damage you. But I think Madara is different. The same way all high-tier Naruto characters buff up their punches with their chakra, they also buff up their defenses. So, if taken by surprise, a hand can go through Madara as easily as a knife through butter. And even though it was somewhat retconned, Giorno can still punch your senses out of your body. So he punches Madara, confuses the ever-living hell out of him as he can literally see his own body, and then quickly stabs him through the chest. It isn’t the cleanest victory, but it is possible.
8. Reinhard van Astrea
Anime: Re: Zero There are two ways to observe this fight: hacks on and hacks off. If we’re including hacks, Reinhard wins by default, as he literally has the power to always win. But even if we forget about that and only focus on his anime feats, he still comes out on top. We haven’t seen him in battle many times. But his fight against a raging Pack is all we need. While enraged, Pack was easily at Bijuu level, threatening to destroy the entire world. And Reinhard just one-shotted him from across the map. Even Madara can’t simply destroy a Bijuu from miles away without getting his hands dirty. So Reinhard wins regardless of how you spin it.
7. Sinbad
Anime: Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic This is another scenario that gets brought up rather frequently – and it’s one that has both sides fuming. I’m team Sinbad on this. His ability to both slow down your senses and mind control you through sound are already pretty big factors in the outcome of this fight. But it is actually his destructive power that gives him the W. Just like Madara casually drops town sized asteroids, Sinbad makes island/country level explosions without breaking a sweat. And I just don’t think Madara could handle that type of raw power. Also, this is without even mentioning the fact that we have yet to ever see a fully-powered Sinbad actually struggle! When he was facing the Magi version of the Gedo statue, Sinbad was just screwing around, not even flinching.
6. Ryou Asuka
Anime: Devilman: Crybaby Spoiler alert, Asuka is Satan and busted as hell. He’s literally like an even more powerful eight gate Guy. You can punch him through a mountain and you wouldn’t even knock the smirk off his face, while he can in turn punch you through the entire state of Texas without breaking a sweet. Even asteroids wouldn’t have much effect, as we see the angels literally destroying the entire planet just to get rid of this dude. Being that he’s Satan and thus Otsutsuki level at the very least, I also doubt things like genjutsu would work all that well – so in this fight I think Madara just takes an L overall.
5. Rimuru Tempest
Anime: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Madara is an extremely clever fighter. But even he can’t do anything against the supercomputer known as Rimuru. Not only does Rimuru have dozens of different abilities suited for just about anything, he can also analyze any jutsu in seconds and create a counter. So genjutsu and even Limbo clones would probably be cracked before they can even land any serious damage. Plus, he can just absorb any stray spells or attacks that come his way, and slowly chip away at Madara with Beelzebub. Sure, I do admit that Rimuru’s tenacity might not be as high as Madara’s, considering he feared Milim who’s comparable to eight gate Guy. But I still think Rimuru would come out on top thanks to his analytical skills.
4. Anos Voldigoad
Anime: The Misfit of Demon King Academy Anos is probably the only character alive that can beat Madara in the flex game. This dude blows away fireballs by blinking at them, and stuns enemies with the beat of his heart. And when it comes to feats of power, Anos’ ability to toss an entire castle around with one hand clearly shows that he packs a similar punch to Guy – if not even stronger. He also has insane tenacity, as even stabbing his heart doesn’t slow him down. And I doubt Madara would have the time to figure out where all of his cores are. So if we were to assume that Anos was completely blood-lusted, I think Madara would get punched into the next dimension.
3. Goku
Anime: Dragon Ball Z It should come as no surprise that every single character from the Dragon Ball series scales far above Madara. Even without going into Dragon Ball Super or any of the movies, Goku just surpasses Madara on so many levels. His destructive power is at city level at the very least, and his speed is far beyond anything Madara could handle. You could maybe make a case that Madara stomps base Goku on Namek. But the second we put Super Saiyan into play, I think all discussions stop.
2. Wang Ling
Anime: The Daily Life of the Immortal King When fully blood-lusted, Wang can literally shake off time stop abilities and punch with enough force to create massive craters in the ground. He also has telekinesis abilities that far outmatch Madara and the Rinnegan – as he can precisely shoot out dozens of huge boulders without even breaking a sweat. That might not be as impressive as Madara’s meteor feat. But we have to take into account that Wang was fighting a single opponent in that scenario, and simply didn’t have the need to throw anything larger. And since he can literally move the Earth’s core, I don’t think Madara can even come close to surviving a single serious barrage from this guy.
1. Saitama
Anime: One Punch Man Although I don’t think this fight would actually end with just a single punch, I do think Madara would bite the dust. Just the air off of Saitama’s punch is powerful enough to destroy an entire mountain. So we can confidently say that the real thing makes Might Guy look like a pushover. I do think that Madara has enough tenacity to survive the initial serious punch, but Saitama can then just kick him into the moon or something and have Toneri deal with him. You could say that Madara can just trap Saitama inside of genjutsu. But even then, the fight doesn’t change. Unike Madara, Saitama’s body is always indestructible. So it’s not like Madara can actually do anything to him while he’s in genjutsu. But the second Madara runs out of juice and lets him out, he is screwed.
