Spoiler alert – they succeed, and it’s the saddest thing I’ve seen in my life. But what if we wanted to speed up the process and have Koro Sensei face someone 1vs1? That’s what we’re considering here as we rank a handful of anime characters that could likely beat everyone’s favorite teacher.
10. Kai Chisaki
Anime: My Hero Academia Chisaki is one of the very few characters on this list that could win even without special weapons. This is because his Quirk allows him to change your body on a molecular level. And if you’ve kept up with your Assassination Classroom lore, you’d know that that’s exactly what’s needed to take Koro Sensei down. However, I do also have to acknowledge the difference in speed between these two. So if they were just facing each other in a battle to the death – Chisaki would probably die. But if Chisaki was among the students under Koro Sensei’s care – it’d be a different story. We already know that it’s possible to catch Koro off guard and one touch is all Chisaki would need. If given the ideal circumstances, Chisaki would’ve made this show a one-episode spoof. But if he fails in this first attempt, he’s probably done for.
9. Sinbad
Anime: Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic I’ll just be honest – Sinbad would need to cheese Koro Sensei rather hard. He’d also need at least one anti-Koro blade in order to finish the job. However, he does stand a chance even if Koro Sensei is serious. This is mostly due to his Valefor Djinn equip. With it, he can slow down Koro’s movement speed without him even realizing it. At that point, Sinbad just has to catch Koro Sensei off guard and land a decisive hit before he realizes what is going on. Alternatively, he could also use Zepar and just command Koro to stand down while he pierces his chest. And if all else fails, he could use Baal to just start blowing things up. If Koro is in character at this point, he’d probably try to stop Sinbad – who could then use that chance in order to land a sneak attack. After all, Sinbad is a crafty fellow and not above using such tactics.
8. Garou
Anime: One Punch Man Although Koro can move at immense speed, his actual attack speed isn’t as impressive. At least it didn’t seem that way whenever he had to face off against another tentacle user. So I’d honestly say that Garou could outmatch him in hand-to-hand combat. We’ve seen both of them catch bullets mid-air (so they’re probably relative in terms of speed) but Garou ramps up way more. The longer Garou is in a fight the faster he becomes. Plus, he’d eventually see through Koro’s attack patterns and start punishing any mistakes. And this isn’t even mentioning that Garou is way more experienced when it comes to prolonged mele fights! And it’d be poetic as all hell – with Koro being the villain who transitioned into a monster and then wanted to do good. Overall, if Garou was given anti-Koro weapons, I think he could clutch a W after getting used to Koro’s attack patterns.
7. Dio Brando
Anime: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders This one is pretty similar to the last one – but with a little more meat on the bone. Just like Garou, Dio excels at quick mele attacks. Given how he scales to Jotaro, we know that he can catch bullets with no issues. However, Dio wouldn’t have to fight with Koro for all that long in order to win. He just has to draw him in close enough to use The World. At that point, even Koro Sensei can’t outrun death. Because how do you dodge someone while time is frozen? And considering it only takes one well-placed stab to actually kill Koro Sensei – he can’t tank a direct attack either. Hell, even if Dio was in character and just decided to Road Roller Koro, he’d still win. This is because we know that Koro has very little actual strength and can get held down even by kids.
6. Osamu Dazai
Anime: Bungo Stray Dogs Just like with Chisaki, this fight demands Dazai to be placed in the position of a student. Because let’s face it – Koro is way too quick and Dazai needs a sneak attack. But if Dazai does manage to get close, I’m pretty sure he’d win. This is mostly based on the headcanon that Koro’s squid form would count as an ability. That might seem far-fetched but given how Dazai can revert Nakajima after he goes full tiger – I think it’s a fair assumption. After all, Nakajima’s DNA is also twisted in order for him to get his boosted stats and healing factor. And if Dazai does revert Koro back to a human for even a second, he can just stab him. Although I will say that a far more likely outcome is that these two become best friends. Because when you think about it, both their past and their present are eerily similar to each other.
5. Akame
Anime: Akame ga Kill! When it comes to Akame, there are two outcomes. Number one, she slashes Koro Sensei with her regular blade and the curse kills him on the spot. Sure, his body can regenerate infinitely, but since the curse attacks his soul – that shouldn’t really matter. And a full-power Akame is definitely capable of speed-blitzing Koro. After all, she managed to catch her opponent off guard while time was literally frozen. So one surprise full-speed slash should end the battle before it begins. Outcome two is that her sword doesn’t work on Koro Sensei. In that case, she’d have to rely on the anti-Koro blades. This would slow things down significantly, but she’d still win in the end. The only way I see Akame losing is if she starts off in her base form and Koro Sensei is completely bloodlusted and just one-shots her at the very beginning.
4. Merlin
Anime: The Seven Deadly Sins This is one of those fights where it’s actually in Koro’s best interest for Merlin to have an anti-Koro weapon. Because he’d just get tortured for all eternity without it. Because Merlin can cast a spell and just have it go on indefinitely at no additional cost to her. So she could pull a tactic similar to the one she used against the original Demons – laying traps everywhere that react at the slightest movement. There’s no doubt in my mind that this would render Koro’s mobility absolutely useless. Sure, the spells wouldn’t kill him, but he still gets staggered on hit – so he couldn’t just escape either. Or she could just throw down a cube prison around him. Koro Sensei doesn’t really have that much destructive power unless he has room to wind up and use kinetic energy. So Merlin could probably just trap him inside and leave. No matter how you spin it, getting stabbed would actually be a blessing for Koro Sensei.
3. Julius Novachrono
Anime: Black Clover Time manipulation will always be busted in versus battles. This is especially true when all of your power comes from a transformation that happened somewhat recently. In other words, Julius can just wind Koro back into a normal human and then kill him however he sees fit. He could potentially even wind him forward but that carries a bit more risk. And even if Julius didn’t rely on this spell in particular – he’d still win. After all, we’ve seen him moving at light speed. Plus his time bubbles can completely freeze you in time and make you a prime stabbing target. In character Julius would probably just be fascinated by Koro and would help him get back to normal – but if one of them had to die, it wouldn’t be the Wizard King.
2. Naruto Uzumaki
Anime: Naruto: Shippuden The thing that eventually leads to Koro’s demise is that his class works together and overwhelms him. So someone like Naruto who can just summon a thousand perfect teammates is a bit of an issue. After all, they’re all his clones – so perfect synergy is guaranteed. And this isn’t even mentioning the fact that all of them move at light speed. And don’t forget the fact that his Rasengan also does damage on a molecular level – meaning that he wouldn’t even need the anti-Koro weapons. Plus Naruto has the tenacity of a god and would be able to just tank any attack that Koro Sensei tossed his way. Truly a very one-sided fight.
1. Rimuru Tempest
Anime: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime It only makes sense that the final battle is against a fellow slime. That being said, late-game Rimuru outscales Koro Sensei so much that it isn’t even funny. First off, Rimuru’s tenacity is not something Koro Sensei could ever deal with. So straight off the bat, he has no way of ever landing any actual damage. Secondly, Rimuru has a supercomputer that can calculate the optimal tactic for every single fight. So it wouldn’t take too long for it to figure out exactly what Koro Sensei’s weaknesses are. Thirdly, Rimuru can just eat Koro Sensei. We’ve seen what devour can do and there’s no way in hell that Koro Sensei is living through it. In fact, Rimuru could probably even revert him back into a human.
