It started from Uchiha Madara’s generation all the way down to Obito’s. In hindsight, it kinda makes you wonder if Madara’s actions brought a curse upon his clan. Obito, for one, is so strong and capable that he has had an impact in every major event in the series — including the assault on Konoha and the Fourth Ninja War. But with that in mind, which anime characters stand a chance against this powerful good-guy-turned bad-guy-turned-good guy? Let’s find out.
10. Whitebeard
Anime: One Piece Here we’ve got an old man way past his prime, who would still fold most anime characters like a lawn chair. Edward Newgate is one of the few legendary pirates whose name is etched in history. And it’s not only because of his strength, but also because of his accomplishments. Though I guess in Whitebeard’s case, it’s mostly because of his strength… After all, this man was touted as the “Strongest Man Alive” who’s said to be capable of destroying the entire world with his Devil Fruit Ability. Whitebeard certainly has more of a chance against Obito if the battle gets up close and personal – but I’d also not put it beyond him to improvise.
9. Julius Novachrono
Anime: Black Clover Julius might not be like most kings, in the sense that he’s unusually so down to earth. But his strength and love for his country is a completely different matter. He’s as good of a king as any when it comes to these aspects. Heck, maybe even more! Julius is — with all said and done — the most powerful wizard in the entire series so far, simply because of the nature of his abilities. Basically he has the extremely broken ability to manipulate time however he wishes. And much like Obito, I think Julius also willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good.
8. All Might
Anime: My Hero Academia Speaking of characters who know the value of self-sacrifice… All Might was revered as the Symbol of Peace, and the #1 Hero up until his retirement. Armed with incredible strength and endurance, All Might is responsible for the majority of villain takedowns during his career. And he’s rescued plenty of civilians through the years – even aside from all the crazy fights. When it comes to our strength-based feats alone, I find it hard to put Obito ahead of All Might. Especially considering that most of All Might’s feats were shown out of his prime. Which is crazy to think about.
7. Saiki Kusuo
Anime: The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. Anime characters capable of destroying the world by themselves are few and far between… So if someone could do it with a mere thought? Yeah. Saiki Kusuo, much to his annoyance, is part of that very exclusive club. He’s a complete hax-machine who can do just about anything with his psychic powers. And although he does not like the prospect of being overpowered that much, we still see him use several broken abilities in the anime like time manipulation, time travel, clairvoyance, etc. I’m not sure Obito stands a chance.
6. Sosuke Aizen
Anime: Bleach Aizen, much like our boy Tobi, isn’t afraid of biding his time just to execute his plans at exactly the right moment. And man did he execute his plans pretty darn well! He might’ve started out as just a pretty decent combatant at first, but this guy was a very ambitious schemer to say the least. He eventually even grew to a level where he could take on multiple Shinigami at once without even breaking a sweat. Aizen in his strongest form is one of the most fearsome villains in anime — capable of so much destruction that not even the strongest anime villains (including Obito) can compare.
5. Yuu Otosaka
Anime: Charlotte Shounen anime often portrays high school students as ridiculously strong characters. And Yuu Otosaka is an extreme example of this. After all, this particular high school boy beats up arrogant gods mostly for entertainment! In fact, he defeated his first god not even a full day after he was summoned in Little Garden. He’s easily bored, and would go out of his way to fight strong beings because of this, which makes him a tad unpredictable at times. Then again, even his unpredictability is in line with his character anyway – and ends up helping him in every fight he gets into.
4. Giorno Giovanna
Anime: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure First things first, this guy is just straight up unbeatable. No amount of skill or cunning would be able to help much for any characters going against Giorno — Obito included. Equipped with his Gold Experience Requiem, Giorno can basically make it so that his body would heal from any form of physical damage by reverting his body to its previous state. That’s OP if I’ve ever seen it. What’s more is that he can also trap his enemies in a time loop, as he did with Diavolo. Sheesh! A fate worse than death, I’d say.
3. Saitama
Anime: One Punch Man This might be cheating a little, but hey, a matchup with Saitama would at least be entertaining. He’s truly the poster boy of the word “Overpowered” and he’s never lost a fight. Even in his own series, Saitama often gets flak for being totally unremarkable in terms of looks. But then again, that’s just a running gag in the show. I mean, Saitama is actually the strongest hero on Earth and has saved the planet countless times. He went at it solo too, until Genos came along. Well, not that this changes anything much… We know Saitama ends up beating monsters by himself anyway… But this guy is able to take city-destroying attacks without even batting an eye. So how well could Obito honestly fare?
2. Anos Voldigoad
Anime: The Misfit of Demon King Academy Demonic characters in anime often get the reputation of being absurdly strong – at least compared to other races. And in Anos Voldigoad’s case, this stereotype certainly holds up resoundingly. After all, he’s not just a typical run-of-the-mill demon you’d find anywhere in the academy. Anos is actually the very first Demon King who happens to also be the strongest of them all! Forget about just beating Obito — this guy can basically solo the entire Naruto universe on his own, considering just how powerful he truly is.
1. Son Goku
Anime: Dragon Ball For our number one spot, we have the Saiyan who’s basically the topic of almost every anime powerscaling “versus” thread online. Unfortunately for Obito fans (including myself, by the way) I just can’t imagine Obito taking the W here. Goku is just too strong and fast for most anime characters. Just another OP name that’s basically impossible to take down. Sure, Obito has several hax-tier Ninjutsus that he could use to pull off a win against the other characters on this list. But against someone who can literally punch planets into oblivion? The odds are astronomically against him, to say the least.
